He's got two years left on his WHam contract, he's not going to sign here for less money and a shorter contract length. Why on earth would he?
  • toffeeblue9
Yeah, I get that, but he's going to want a 3 or 4 year deal. We've got enough players on the wrong side of 30 (although happily we've shifted some this summer). Wouldn't be the end of the world like, but I'd still prefer to swerve given the choice.

Soutch' would be a good signing for two seasons, if the price was right. Absolutely waltzes into this current Everton team over Garner I'm afraid to say. That said, we still need a passer in there as neither Gueye, Garner or Soucek are known for...

Soucek would only be acceptable if signed along with another centre mid who adds some quality on the ball. If he was our only central midfield signing I'd be really, really disappointed. He does a job and will chip in with a few goals but he's...

Jack Harrison as the answer to our problems. NO. Jack Harrison as one of seven more signings. STILL NO.

I agree with you both. Think that's a lot of money for someone that hasn't produced a lot. More than Delap too who showed a lot more for Ipswich. Not disappointed to miss out on him.

They're also including a 16 year old in their 1st team squad this season who plays the same position. I forget his name, but he's supposed to be the next big thing for his age. I genuinely don't get the Madueke thing

He played left back a lot last season (and I thought he was a real find for them), but you know what City are like with their full backs - they play midfielders there all the time as Guardiola values them being good with the ball. No idea what...

Reminds me of Theo Walcott in some ways - very fast, but lacks a football brain. I'd been pretty disappointed to see us linked with him. I was about to say that the fact it's Brentford who are interested makes me question my own judgement, but...

Exciting but lacks end product imo Better than Harrison though

Thought he did pretty well in the first half. Unlucky not to score and physically looked after himself a lot more than I'd seen before (accepted obvious context about the opposition)

Some absolutely horrendous shouts on this page. Truly horrendous.

If you're taking him at face value, Barry only signed 6 days ago and "a few" is typically 3 or more, so you'd be talking over the next 15 days

The Tete deal shows you exactly why the budget is a bit of a jigsaw. We wanted him and even giving him a payrise, we'd have had a decent right back in on a relatively decent outlay. Now it looks like we don't fancy any of the other free agent...
