Bit odd this like. I'm not really expecting many/any on 1st July. What I am expecting is lots of activity in the background to set up deals for being announced in July at some point. Being annoyed that deals aren't announced literally on Tuesday...

That's a bit of a surprise

Yeah, it does give us the opportunity to progress and hopefully hold onto him because we are actually a good place to be playing your football. It's not a bad thing in any way, but I still expect there to be loads of transfer speculation again...

This is great, but all it really says to me is that he's agreed to stay another year (which is great news in itself). Next summer there will be plenty of speculation again, but we will be in a strong negotiating position at least.
