Blimey - a quartet of free transfers. That's illuminating

I doubt it would have anything to do with the scouting system in all honesty. This would be a Moyes decision and at a complete guess I would assume it would be because we will be bringing in a large number of players, most of the ones we spend...

He’s not actually very good tbf.

The point I was trying to make (and again, I don't want to sign him) is that even if it's by a small margin, we'd be better off than we were last season.
  • toffeeblue9
When you say "last payday", surely we'd only be paying a portion of his wages as a loan? Assuming it's real, he's going to want to be at the world cup (yes, that's fanciful as things stand), he would know that he'd have to play very well here to...

And that's where you're making your (reasonable enough) point look ridiculous
  • toffeeblue9
But you said 40 year old Ashley Young and 37 year old Seamus Coleman are currently quicker, so we really don't.

Watch the ground he makes up in the seconds before that from his own positional error. That's the bit I'd be focusing on

Let me help you... 0:15 here This one is more of an eye opener in terms of how he loses a pace battle and more recently albeit against one of the most powerful runners in the game currently. The one you gave me was grasping straws.

You're seeing what you want to see mate. I'm not disputing he's not as quick as he was 2 years ago or whatever, but the clip you've just used as evidence of that is anything but.
  • toffeeblue9
Are you watching the same clip I am?
  • toffeeblue9
Not sure what point you're making there. That mistake to me is about his position rather than his pace. If anything I'd say he makes the ground up impressively after his mistake but gave himself too much to do.
  • toffeeblue9
I'd suggest the bit about his pace is being overplayed slightly. Yeah, he's not as quick as he was 2 years ago, but he's not suddenly about to get outrun by Dwight McNeil. Our data guys wouldn't be signing off on the wages he'd cost if he was...

I don't actually want to sign him mate But playing devil's advocate, I can understand why (if finances need to stretch to 8 to 10 players this summer) this is an option they'd consider. He's clearly past his best, but it's essentially a swap of...
