It’s obviously pending the coming points deductions for us and Forest, but in all likelihood that’s what the table will look like Monday evening.

Brutal run coming up for them. The points are certainly there to be had for us in April and early May as we play the entire bottom of the table in that stretch. Just pointing out that our game in hand isn’t likely to count for much.

Our game in hand is the RS. Even drawing that one seems like a longshot.

It seems to me that us staying ahead of Forest should be top priority. In all likelihood they will be docked at least as many points as we are when the the round of deductions are announced. Assuming we lose another six, Burnley winning today also seems bad as it puts them back within shouting...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

David Ornstein was on the pre-match of the American broadcast Monday and said that the deadline for deciding on Forest’s charge and our second change was early April, and the deadline for any inevitable appeals wasn’t until May 24, which is the Friday after final match week. So it’s entirely...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

I’m not sure a suspension of the points deduction is good for us at all unless they allow our penalty to be reevaluated next year under the new regulations once they are changed to accommodate City/Chelsea. Obviously that would almost certainly keep us up this year, but ultimately, trying to...

No, it’s wrong. Our last goal from open play was against Luton in the FA Cup. Last league goal from open play was against City right after Christmas, which was still only nine games ago. Obviously still terrible, but not quite as terrible as this tweet makes it seem.

39 has been well above safety for several years now, and will continue to be so as long as the league remains this top heavy. Luton have 20 points through 24 games. Thinking they get another 20 in the final 14 isn’t a realistic fear.

Can they? They’ve won exactly one game against a team that isn’t Burnley or Sheff U since the last day of September.

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

It does seem odd for Luton to be so wound up about this right now. Even if we hadn't been deducted any points, they've got a game in hand and are just one point behind Forest. Draw that game with Bournemouth and they're above the line regardless. Win it, and they're right there with Palace and...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

From a pure sporting perspective, everyone from Brentford on down has at least some cause to be upset with how the PL has handled this. It's now mid-February, and nobody has even the slightest clue what the target for survival is this year. Depending on our appeal, possible further deductions...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

True. But while the leagues themselves are more competitive, they’re also the ultimate closed shops. Even the most horribly owned and operated teams are never in jeopardy of losing their seat at the table. In fact, because of the way draft picks are allocated, the worse your team is, the more...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

I don’t understand how we can be docked points twice for this in the same season. Even if the July 2020 to June 2021 period wrecks the books for three consecutive assessments, wouldn’t the assessments just be annually and put us at risk for points deductions across multiple seasons? Getting hit...

    2023/24 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It’s not as though it had a lot of credibility at this point anyway, but how can VAR possibly be taken seriously after this? By rescinding the red card they’re openly admitting that VAR intervened by stopping the game for five minutes so that they could force an on-field referee to overturn his...

If we advance there’s a 5/6 chance we get drawn with either a lower league side or a PL side we’ve already beaten this season. Doesn’t exactly seem like the right time for a club with a three decade trophy drought to be running up the white flag.
