Can’t say either way on the capacity as don’t know enough but perhaps there was a trade off on the location vs size.
If you build a 70k seater stadium out in the sticks then it makes extra money on match day because of the capacity but is empty...
The only way to look at this is as follows:
Either Dyche or Moyes would have saved us from relegation this season. No question about that.

And it gives the fans an out. We can simply call it Everton Stadium. Which is what it is.
Of course, the beancounters want us all to call it by its corporate name, which will not happen with anybody with a functioning brain.
A better solution would be to brand it but keep the Everton Stadium element. For the addition of one glorious word, we'd have the Hill Dickinson Everton Stadium.
I mentioned the same the other day. Seems a no brainer for when the sponsorship drops off (Like in my example of the BT Cellnet Riverside Stadium as it was when first opened)
A lump in the throat when you see the number of Everton players leaving which then relocates to the front trouser when you start to read through the names.
I understand it's all opinions, but I just don't understand why so many people these days appear to want to be offended by anything they possibly can be? I just couldn't actually be bothered to be that bothered about something that has no impact...
