I think moyes will try to bring someone else in but Beto's lack of technical quality means he must be really difficult to play against and he does get goals. I would keep him and reckon he'll get 15 all in if he gets game time.
So he should - Moyes has always played tough love with strikers who are unreliable- which let’s be honest he is, he gets a lot of chances and misses them, but we give him slack cos he tries a lot.
I like him but he’s not our number 1 striker.
Obviously, he has limitations. Just accept him for what he is.
The most important thing is: does he score goals?
And yes he does, for all his weakneses .
Barry probably has a higher ceiling, but he is not there yet and lacks Beto's physicality.
Seemed to have a bee in his bonnet about being benched again which had him spread everywhere and then right in line for a tap in for the second. Will likely get the nod on Saturday I think
Glad the big man scored. His confidence is clearly shot. He just needs to take it on the chin and embrace the competition instead of shy away from it. There will be plenty of time for him if he scores goals.
Stopped in the village for post game bev with family. Came out just as players coming out. Beto was a 100% star. Stopped for everyone , loads of pics. My 2 kids lucky enough to get 1 each. Its the little things sometimes that mean the most...
I cannot help but like the fella.
For all his faults, he works his socks off with very limited service, and will always knock a goal or two in even when he’s looking like he’s having a bit of a mare.
Some fans need to lay off him as well tbh...
It's surely just natural evolution of the team - as new, better players come in it shows where the levels of the current squad are, especially in mid-to-forward areas. He struggled last night for sure, and his languid style can be deceiving...
