Some fans especially on social media need to have a player to gripe about. McNeil, Keane and Coleman are the recent targets, all of whom have shown themselves to be worthy squad members at present.

That too of course which is humorous because people will constantly gripe that there's no depth in the squad. there also seems to be a certain stigma towards McNeil

I think it's much more that people can't get their head round the idea of a squad and so think anyone who isn't a nailed on starter can be sold.

Everton supporters are emotional and sentimental beings , so I think they just naturally connect him to Dyche which was deemed as an archaic relic of the past , also Everton fans have a tendency to attach unreal expectations even on squad players...

The only reason I can think to get rid of McNeil is for the number of blues I hear who still call him O’Neil. Hes only been here 3 years, lads.
