I imagine our starting 11 in the first few games at least will be virtually the starting 11 from last season, albeit with a new RW. (Maybe a new RB depending on if Tarks is fit or not). But even then, we could see our front four being Beto...

Spot on. Will create competition and hopefully allow Barry to get used to the league and country. Can only be good for his development. Also hopefully Beto's attitude rubs off on him.

Playing a striker with a 1 in 2 record is a bigger risk than playing a young striker who is untested in this league. I'm glad we're getting Barry. Think he will do well but he should have to prove he is good enough to displace Beto. Beto earned...

Manchester City will sign 15-year-old Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri from Sheffield Wednesday in a £1.5m deal. The forward is the son of former Everton striker Danny. Another one slips by.

I can't agree more once you have a solidly defensive core its easier to get results and be more expansive up front. Last 4 years its our defence that kept us up and the leaky defences with the managers who had a philosophy that went down.

I dunno. I'm old-school. Give me defensively-sound defenders any day. Get better attackers for the attacking. I get your point, though. But if a new full back is good going forward, he really has to be able to do the defensive basics too.

I think this is one of those that is dependant on who we can sign as a right winger (which is marginally the biggest priority imo). If we get a rapid pace merchant we may need a solid, stay at home defender (aka Mykolenko), however if we managed...

Totally agree – I think people sometimes forget that football is a team game. Love him or hate him, Beto causes panic, creating space for Ndiaye, Alcaraz and others, which in turn leads to more goals scored as a team. A static line-leader is much...

Problem is teams are less likely to loan a player to be 3rd choice striker, certainly not for development anyway unless it is solely to get his wages off the books

I'd take a punt on a loan with an option to buy Fergsuson

So, how will people feel about the start of the window if within a day or two we A. Resign Gana, B. Extend Branthwaite, C. Purchase a striker(Barry)? Will that buy the club a few days without excessive complaining or no?

A quick perusal of Brighton fan thoughts includes: “Needs to get his head sorted” “…the next Duncan Ferguson or…Sarah Ferguson. Your call Evan.” “…from being smashed at Liverpool…now smashed in Ibiza” “RDZ was at a loss to why he had stopped...
