Tonight was a bit refreshing seeing a bit of the youth movement. We need a better balance. Lately we’ve been top heavy with the older players. Time to start feathering in some younger players.

Few players going 90 minutes, unusual in the first game. (Keane, Iroegbunam, Tyrer, Patterson, McNeil) Moyes was obviously moving Armstrong around - he was left midfield, 10 and then defensive midfield in the second half. Had a decent game...

I’d say run the young lads out some more in these friendlies. See how they do against progressively more challenging opponents. Maybe there’s an Armstrong or two in the making.

Good runout overall, decent for a first friendly against a team that's a bit fitter by all accounts. Love the "I don't hate him" energy some of you bring for Patterson - he has a good overall piece of play, good movement, decent overlap, shoots...
