I don't like Keane & was hoping we got rid but assuming a big paycut & considering he wasn't that bad after Moyes came & he is fourth-choice I can take the deal. Spending 10 million on a fourth-choice and having to pay a decent wage sounds a bit...

Sounds more likely. There are players with release clauses in the hundreds of millions, or at least used to be.

We are not paying that but they are obligatory in Spain so they have slapped that. What they are willing to sell for is another matter. IMO, La Liga release clauses are only relevant if they seem too low, then it's a good opportunity. Barry's...

If he is only interested in money, then sure.

Yeah, but he can basically rot in ManU reserves or take a pay-cut. Or go out on loans until his contract runs out. At 25, last option doesn't sound a great option. Maybe for next season.

I would rather have a punt at Antony. They want 30 million so let's offer 20. He was sensational in Real Betis and they would love to sign him but can't afford. Goal-scoring right winger, isn't that pretty much exactly what we need? He would...

That's what happens with young players. That's why all these talks of "our youth team has many players who look good so why not fill gaps in first team with them" are folly. Most of those lads do make a living as a footballer, but will do so in...

You reckon you could run 6/7 miles per game, put in intensive sprints, press and maintain concentration? Didn’t think so and no, I’m not fun at parties

I was a Partner in a top 10 Global Consulting Firm and then a CFO of a $9bn revenue global business and I do not think I have enough information to make a reliable estimate of EFC’s transfer (fee/amortisation) and wage headroom this window but...

Impossible to know until last season's finances are out but since we didn't break FFP this year it looks like we already did. A lot of that loss can also be attributed to stadium costs more easily.

It's the year before those that had the biggest loss.

Wages have dropped probably by 500k per week. Amortization costs are down. And income is increasing by tens of millions for the season.

So you would want the club to pay money for a young player to be wasted on the subs' bench? And in case he's needed he's not PL level. Make it make sense.

Image dump: There's just an insane amount of hospitality space, isn't there? More than most UK towns.
