All the clamor about us not signing a right back before the deadline and everyone is acting as if Patterson doesn't exist.
Not saying he isn't without weaknesses but with other utility men being able to fill in wide (and sometimes playing 3atb)...
I kind of agree. I'd rather not sign players that don't want to be here.
Take Grealish as an example - the lad is quality and has been playing at the highest level and under the best manager of the modern period and despite being out of form...
Never say never, but yes, if they really don't want to come, why try and push it.
If he wants to just step into a CL team without doing the work to make that team a CL team then is that really the player we need? If we get into the CL team...
Not the best source but you’d expect us to be extra careful for his return given it was the same injury twice within a short time frame
Everton fear Jarrad Branthwaite could be out until the end of September after he sustained a hamstring...
Dibling - 7/10
Barry - 6.5/10
KDH - 7.5/10
Alcaraz - 6.5/10
Aznou - 6/10
Travers - 6/10
Rohl - 7/10
King - 4/10
Grealish - 9/10
Getting the fee for Alcaraz pretty much covered by the sales of Maupay and Chermiti - 8/10
JB signing a new contract...
Having only 2 strikers is absolutely the bigger issue
You almost always sub off the centre forward with 15-20 minutes to go and if you have only one alternative, an injury to Barry or Beto would massively hamstring us.
According to Transfermarkt, he's had 3 knee injuries in the past 12 months and has missed all but 1 match in that period. The last one was knee surgery and he's not expected to return until October.
That's probably the reason a 26yo right back...
The right back is a frustration because we look close to having a pretty good squad, one that could achieve something. Just feel it may be let down by square pegs in round holes at the back.
