I thought it was a fairly obvious pen myself, not cast iron but one you’d expect to be given. It travelled a long way before it hit his arm, it’s not like it was a mad ricochet he couldn’t avoid.

Not agreeing with the original post but have to say I think we’re past the point now of saying he’s a centre half playing out of position. He’s our first choice right back and that’s where he’s played most of his games for us. I don’t think...

Take his running onto through balls and finishing and DCL's hold up put them together you might have one decent striker

No I get that, but you can say the same for anyone really - ‘we know he’s slow/can’t pass/can’t tackle etc so why…’ and yet nobody does really, it’s just this weird thing around Beto where he’s almost excused from being laughably 90% of the time...

It does make me laugh how some people expect the majority of the players to be 10/10 at everything but think it’s fine for Beto to be excused for repeatedly looking abysmal if we didn’t play 48 inch perfect through balls for him.

Possibly, but also not uncommon for people to be unhappy about stuff without really realising that they’re part of the problem.

Moyes' comments on him werent exactly exciting were they?

Nah this is far far worse, if he’s not injured then the optics of not even including him in this squad are absolutely terrible. You have to assume he’s injured or this would already look like an absolutely ridiculous signing all things considered.

In the nicest possible way, that’s just drivel. We can’t know what they’re trying to do, there’s no point pretending we can. I get the theory behind what you’re saying but the truth is it’s just over the top positivity which is every bit as bad...

I wouldn't sell just yet, I'd send him on loan. We can mitigate his salary for a year and see if he develops. His value can't get any lower at the moment, it's illogical to sell him now.

No ! Give the lad a chance . What’s the point of urging the club to buy young talent if we refuse to allow them time to develop. We can’t keep spending £50m on players that someone else has developed.

They just don’t want lose their best players and can see what the market is like at the moment.

Only 17 starts in 2 years for Nkounkou, and he fairly regularly doesn't make the matchday squad. I don't think there's a lot to suggest that we misjudged him really. As far as I know that was just people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5...

Makes sense though right? Try to get back up and hopefully it won’t be as big a disaster the next time. These players will still have value next summer if they can’t bounce back.
