We agreed to pay the buyout it isnt saying we are looking at, or stepping up interest. if you dont understand the difference that's on you.

What I like about this is apparently everton was ready to pay the clause and we heard absolutely nothing about him before that. Not from bobble not from any shoddy source. Shows the club is being tight lipped and we shouldn’t freak out about...

As I've said a few times, I just don't really see the Travers deal as the massive thing that some people seem to. The fact we've paid money for a back up keeper is quite surprising, but I don't think it really means anything as such, it may well...

Maybe pathway blocker is the wrong phrase. But I'm not sure we pay money and give an apparently quite meaty 4 year deal to a 26yo backup if our 23yo keeper projects to be as good or better in 1-2 years time, and if he isn't going to be (and...

I wouldn't really see it as a pathway blocker. Either Tyrer is going to be good enough to make it here or he isn't. Currently you'd have to say the chances of him being good enough to take over from Pickford as first choice at any point look...

Travers is a decent keeper, but if Tyrer can't oust him, then he's not Everton standard, so up to him to do it.

So I don’t disagree with you but your talking as a member and to members of a forum supporting a football team and the majority of posters can have zero impact on that teams performance or results . The only ones that can , at best, can...

I just don't think it is, it's really common. Obviously there aren't necessarily loads at once at any given time purely because of how age works, but as a basic principle it's something that happens all the time. Just thinking about Everton, we...

I almost think the opposite (about the first bit) to be honest, he's just taken for granted as being part of the squad now in most people's lists. I agree on his potential though.

This has to be a joke?! It would be just about the most popular thing imaginable.

Yes, it was a rhetorical question. The point is, it's easy to understand why a player would make this move and the amount of people acting like it isn't is very strange. Reading a lot of the comments about Travers on here and Twitter you'd swear...

Might like playing actual matches and could sit on my arse later on

I reckon it's much easier to be a back-up keeper than it is to be an outfield player who doesn't get games. They probably get to make more saves in 10 minutes of training than they will in most matches.

Totally agree. It's messing with my head seeing people ask why he'd do it. Why on earth wouldn't you?!
