He's already played 400 games in his career, it wouldn't be that surprising if he doesn't feel the need to go and play another 100 at a lower level just for the sake of it.

Probably yeah but it honestly depends on what figure it was because they knew how good he was when they sold him. They tend to set their buy back price at double the sale so at 80 mil they probably would but Palmer also probably wouldn't go back...

Both things can be true though. He did OK early on - there were some fairly clear flaws in his game but he showed some good stuff too - but then there were another 7/8 months of the season after that where he didn't contribute much. He's 22 now...
