It's more than a handful to be fair, he's basically missed 1 out of every 3 over the last 4 years which is a pretty bad record. Doesn't mean he can't be a good signing or that it wasn't just bad luck or whatever, but it's definitely something...

10 Sporting players got more assists than him last season, including both their centre halves. Doesn't sound like the answer to our prayers to me.

He was mentioned as a possibility in most of the articles about Kyle walker. I’d have rather us gone for a proper long term upgrade at right back personally but if that wasn’t an option I think he’s the best of the category we were looking at...

He's a decent mid-table level player I'd say, which is vastly better than what we've had at right back for years.

    I hope so.

I think that depends greatly on who the manager is. I don't mind it in this instance given who the manager is and the circumstances, but I think there's plenty of managers knocking about who are better working with players rather than identifying...

I love that one! Especially when it's said as if it's a major revelation that hasn't already been said 14000 times in the same thread.

Its the same as "Selling a player for 50m lets us spend 250m". Yes, for PSR reasons the fees are spread over the length of the contract, but transfer fees to clubs are not and they need paying.

Yeah it's quite similar to the 'just sell it to the women's team for a billion and it'll all be fine' stuff. Clearly it isn't that easy, otherwise everybody would be doing it, and yet people just put it forward as if the club must be idiots not...

Its 19th June and we have the rise of Eddie Burger and Zatman thinking hes invented the wheel by post dating multi-million pound football deals like hes pulling the wool over the eyes of the most corrupt organisation in the world. And people say...

Don't be dissing Eddie Burgers as a source mate, the Ornstein of the Andes they call him.

Extremely highly rated at youth levels and by players and coaches at Southampton. Both footed, good dribbler. He actually reminds me of a young version of Grealish. We don’t have the money to punt £50m on potential though.

I think that's fantasy to be honest, we are losing about 15 players or whatever, if you think each and every signing will be a every week starter and improvement on what's left you need to temper those expectations. I hope we sign 2 or 3 that...

Absolutely, it will be a balance of different signings. Hopefully some will be about immediate improvement, I don't think we have a budget for all of them to be so, especially with the huge numbers leaving to be replaced
  • Lanolin
I agree, but with the caveat that there are some positions where gun signings are more important than others. A link like Tagliafico I can get on board with, a low cost addition who offers genuine competition/different options. A free transfer...
