It's not harsh at all. He's a bloke who's spent the huge majority of his career in the bottom half of the PL and has won less England caps than Michael Keane, I don't know why people are acting like he's a world class talent. It's not a criticism...

I don't disagree, many of our players in recent years have been below average, hence us consistently finishing in the bottom half of the table That doesn't change the fact that Tarkowski is, in the grand scheme of things, a fairly average player...

There's no reason why O'Brien can't be aiming to oust Tarkowski, none at all. To be blunt, if he's genuinely not good enough to oust an average PL journeyman who's 33 and coming off the back of a serious injury, he really can't be all that good...
