Appointing FSW.
That was the turning point as club then became bottom half team with relegation near misses. A really poor decision and he should've known better.
Think he was a bit like Lerner at Villa all those years ago. Started off well...
Ah I thought they only got him for 2-3m as Huddersfield got relegated.
I'm still stuck in Moyes first spell with 7m fees for Lescott and Jags when both were championship players so forgive me!
He’s definitely not a winger but he easily has enough pace to play 8 or 10. One of the only players we’ve had in years that is comfortable travelling at pace with the ball.
At worst he's shown he can chip in with goals and far mobility in central midfield.
Also lowers the average age down in midfield given Doucs will likely go this summer and then Gana next year.
To me it's a no brainer.
I think it has a lot to do with his price. About 12 million for a 22-year who looks to be the part in the PL is not much. Clubs pay double that for absolute cloggers. At the very least he'll be a good rotation player but he has the tools to be...
Not if they don't go up, would probably get 7-8m for him. They sold Hamer to Sheffield United for 15m two years back. Even Gyokeres didn't even go for 20m initially.
I don't see him as a 10, and would be more intrigued to see us go for more of a 433 with pair of 8s with Charly taking one of those positions. It would give more license for McNeil and Ndiaye to get in and around the box to support the centre...
Yep chucked away so many points at Goodison in first few months.
Start well at BMD and no reason why it can't be 50 + point season with a couple of smart signings.
I was worried a bit today with how lethargic the first half was as loss today...
