In hindsight yes but Lescott was also playing out of his skin at left back. I don’t think anyone would have predicted how good Baines would become for us. Imagine if we had him now linking up with Grealish, NDiaye and KDB. 💦

He’d already played two full seasons in the prem though. He was just moving up a level in terms of team.

Well, there's no way of us knowing if cash flow is an issue or not. I'd find it surprising that liquidity would be an issue this early on with TFG, but we can't know that for sure. But, what we can say is that the reported structure of the deal...

Fair play mate, happy to defer to your better knowledge on this, if it helps Everton - all good. If this is the case, then we were close to P.S.R. threshold presumably.

But we could have just bought him, paid the equivalent of the loan fee now as a first payment and paid the rest deferred?
  • K
Are you sure? Wouldn't the selling club prefer a sale and deferred payment so they can book all the profit now?
  • K
I thought that was a splash at first glance.

    😂You got me there.

Why on earth would he use his arm on purpose to block a shot that had little chance of going in knowing that the consequence was an almost certain goal from a penalty? Have you played football? If the ball is kicked at you it's very hard to get...

It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have...

😂 No I'm not. I don't know any other meaning of the verb deliberate. It means doing something intentionally or on purpose as opposed to accidentally or involuntarily. Most handballs in the penalty area aren't deliberate within the normal meaning...
