I’m staying positive. Hammond is a shrewd operator - I remember the signings he helped facilitate for Newcastle post takeover all being shrewd and successful.

Not seen Travers play before but I welcome competition for Pickford. Was it under Carlo that he had a spell out with Olsen replacing him ? That seems to have really helped Pickford as he’s been much improved since. Hoping we can get similar competition for other positions too eg left back…

I would like to see an overhaul of our midfield. Apart from Gana, no one is good enough, and even Gana looked worryingly off his game. Moyes developed Rice into an elite midfielder so am sure he’ll be looking for players he can similarly mould.

There’s a lot of chat about upgrading our attack but for me revamping the midfield is as important if not more so. It starts with having an upgrade on Garner especially for games like today where we’re expected to make the posssesion count. He’s fine as a backup but an upgrade is sorely needed

exciting line up. 9 of the starting 11 are under contract next season with only Gana and Alcaraz not sure to still be around. Moyes starting to look at next season clearly

Surely Thelwell and Purdy will be leaving Kinnear and Hammond a Moyes vetted recruitment list that they can start executing on even if Thelwell and Purdy won’t be around any longer?
