If Moyes forces through Soucek he has too much power.
That's what it boils down to for me. I also think it would highlight issues with the recruitment structure if it's allowed to go ahead.
Haha
I was about to reply and enter into reasoned debate about the pros and cons of signing Soucek.
But then you come out with this.
Clearly you are just as biased in his favour as I am against .
There is no middle ground to be found .
And I...
Finally a Doucouré replacement.
No seriously though, the only thing Moyes loves more than a 3rd or 4th keeper is a massive GROCK in the midfield isn't it.
Soucek is not a ‘well rounded midfielder’
He is actually fairly limited.
And if used defensively it negates his outstanding attribute , the ability to score goals.
If you use him to go up for corners , someone has to drop and cover his defensive...
If we’d already signed a RB, defensive mid and maybe another attacker don’t think people would mind this anywhere near as much.
The fact we have none of them with a couple of days to go makes this one irksome.
A loan would make more sense as a stop gap.
Soucek is settled at Wham. I doubt he would leave unless Moyes promises him significant game time.
I suppose if he gets a standard 3year contract that adds another year of earnings to pad his pension...
Yeah that's fair enough although I'd do what doubt the truth in it, but throwing 15m at at best a stop gap for three years is frankly mental.
And Soucek will be one Moyes most certainly wanted from day one I'd wager.
Well it does if you think about it a tiny bit. I assume the suggestion is that Soucek would take up the 'number 10' role in the way Fellaini did, and so the likes of Ndiaye and Alcaraz would be shifted wide, pushing Dibling down the pecking order.
The positive’s are he is tall (does that even count as a positive ) , and scores some goals ?
Ignoring the negatives such as , he is a poor distributer of the ball, is slow and can’t dribble.?
I expect a little more from a midfielder.
He is...
