No, no, no. You're drawing the wrong conclusion there. Absolutely correct to let them go. But the replacements haven't arrived - that's where the issue currently is.
Moyes sounds absolutely exasperated in his interview tonight. And it's the club's own interview, not with the press
I think that tells us a lot. And shows exactly how far behind we are with recruitment. If the manager is sounding this annoyed...
@davek said it perfectly several times: Everybody ought to be, as you say, deeply skeptical of these new owners and shouldn't fall for their 'huge ambition' spiel without seeing any actual results.
Yup, definitely. He knows the game - these owners will shaft him when the time comes. I don't think he's disrespectful or antagonistic, just realistic now. He'll be gone when the time comes. He might as well put it up to them while he's here...
I'm not his biggest fan - even if I recognise his deep competence as a manager - but that interview gets the likes of me well onside. Moyes is frustrated because he knows recruitment is way off where it should be by now. There may be good reasons...
He's extremely frustrated there. But good to see he's not trying to play down the problems. Even when the questions tried to get him to be positive, he wasn't having it.
"Nice football in the first half", "the fans are great, a big turnout..."
All waffle. Moyes, to his credit, is quietly stewing. "Let's be fair, it wasn't just because we had a few missing through injury..."
I realise that the market is tough...
"Hi David your side has just been soundly battered by Bournemouth and you could barely field 11 players and needed to play half a side out of position, with the Premier League just three weeks away."
... but there was some really nice football...
Good interview from the Moyesiah. Snivelly Goebels was trying to get him off the subject of a small squad, but he wasn't really having it. I suspect he's very frustrated and, at this stage in his career, isn't reticent about saying it.
I like that.
We should be going to the US with at least half of our new players to bed in and represent the club properly.
Kinnear was waffling about the importance of the tour for the new players - but what new players? Barry? Travers? Who else? He was...
Personally, I think it was madness this club traveling to the US for this when we have made such a mess of the window so far. We were simply not prepared, yet we have Kinnear telling us the US is "such an important market" for us. If it was that...
"Bottom half and should have enough to stay up" really isn't going to cut it for these owners' first summer. I'm not suggesting you are suggesting that'll do, but we need to start signing players pretty urgently now. I'm sure we will - but it's...
