I’m not talking about just this coming season. Every year they can spend a couple of £100m more and cherry pick the best players. Squad values worth 10x those of ours
Arsenal have spent £123m so far and still say they’re short on numbers.
Liverpool over £250m adding to a league winning squad.
How are we supposed to compete? It’s ridiculous
We’re likely heading into the new season with the same starting 11 as last season. And what this thread is showing is that most of our fans just accept nothing but mediocrity now. Losing and drawing pre-season games heading into a new season...
That is the question though.
If we want to bring in three starters and 2 "young but plenty of potential upside" players, then I'm guessing 30M per player for the three starters and 2 smaller fees (loan with options to purchase); it's not going...
This is basically my view. We haven't lost anyone who was in our final first 11, with the possible exception of Harrison for McNeil. I'm not 100% but I think McNeil probably starts more if he was fit.
There are fair arguments to say lots of that...
Yeah I really have a soft spot for Lindstrom - think the loan mooted around for him from Germany would be worth us matching.
But if we did that now - it's not fixing anything which we need as a priority so would be underwhelming for example...
If a bid is accepted, we talk to the player and he decides that he’d rather go play football elsewhere, how is that in any way on the new owners? Some of you are just looking for any excuse at all to complain I’m sure of it.
The Bobble says he’s Our number one target so if we lose out to him to those two clubs I am calling BS on our new owners.
Same way we should have all seen the red flag when Lukaku said he smelt something rotten about Moshiris plans…
I think by the time each summer rolls around that I forget how mental it gets on here during the off season. Unless it’s just multiplied more than usual given how many players we lost (got rid of) from last season.
