Ake would immediately raise he standard of our defenders by a large margin. I find it hard to believe the number that don't want him but would welcome some completely untried young defender from abroad somewhere.
It could also be that Ake has only recently been told by City that he can leave... if that is the case.
Given their involvement in the tournament in the US I expect their summer has been disjointed and Pep has spoken about working with fewer...

Akanji would almost make more sense considering he's played right back a fair bit. I wouldn't be unhappy if either of them ended up here though, obvious step up in quality...
I have no idea if there is any truth in this but he has always been very good any time I have seen him play with City.
