I think TFG need to show some ruthlessness here and completely withdraw the contract offer, he’s taken the mick out of the club by keeping us on the back burner as a backup option imo.

He should be embarrassed signing a new playing contract knowing that he's incapable of playing at this level anymore. He shouldn't have signed the last one.

I think the idea of keeping him for another year is his presence in the dressing room that helps motivate the team, which I thought was part of what the manager is supposed to do before a game. Nice to be such a nice guy to have around that...

We must be in a really healthy financial position if we're able to hand out playing contracts to players who have proven themselves unable to stay fit for several years. I guess that can only be a good thing if you think about it.

We get to register 25 players, three of them are goalkeepers, so you can afford to have one of them as a coach/mascot/cheerleader. That leaves 22 spots for outfield players, why would we give up one of those spots for a player that won't play...

For an ACL it’s usually anywhere between 6-12 months mate. He’s a £20 mill footballer mate, if he was on a free covering his wage for a few months might be the clever play.
