I mentioned relegation in terms of, most people do not believe we will be relegated. Terminal decline refers to a bigger picture. If a team's form spikes for a few months that is usually irrelevant to an overall picture. But, i suspect you know...

I’ll happily mention relegation as that is what awaits us if we don’t get some players in. You can’t go into the season with that midfield, no right wingers and no right back and expect anything else.

Unless the Grand Old Team moderator gets a bee in his bonnet about you expressing your valid opinion, despite ignoring the fact that having just lost to another team considered to be newly promoted relegation fodder without having raised a shot...

Again as a thread it's not about a relegation panic, per se, at this stage, it's more of an acknowledgement that there is a risk that without reinforcing the squad, we look like a team that could be down that area of the table as we lack balance...

Isn't this sort of what we have just done? When I originally posted i thought the mods would just ping an unlock, but now we are a few pages in, can we just rename this thread and go with what we now have?

Exactly, I'd rather that than have it bleed onto the transfer thread which is already far too long and usually off topic at the moment. It's descended into people moaning etc etc instead of actually discussing transfer rumours, mostly.

Fair shout, to re-open this thread. The only reason to do so, is the shocking (lack of) decent recruitment so far. Fix that in the time remaining and the thread can be closed again. Fix it properly and we can all hit the “Qualify for Europe”...

Re-opening it is actually a good idea, save us being bombarded with dozens of different threads all about the same thing. Sort of a one stop shop for anyone that needs a bit more negativity in their life
