Last post on Sunderland, don't want to derail the thread, but notice that a lot of their signings are AFCON legible. The likes of Diarra and Adingra certainly are. Maybe that's why Sunderland are signing them at ease. Other clubs are put off, etc.

I agree. Just highlighting that it can still go either way with their signings, like every signing to a degree.

I think they're putting together a good side. They could do with bringing Henderson and maybe someone similar in to give them a bit more top level experience and guide the younger players through, but there's plenty of talent there.

I rate some of their signings, I spoke to a Sunderland fan on this very site about that, but it can work both ways for them. Who was the lad Burnley signed from Belgium that was player of the year? I don't even think he got a start under Kompany.
