This is where a good youth set up is critical - we need a pipeline of talent which sadly doesn’t exist at the moment.
Hopefully we will see improvements in this area in the next 3 to 5 years.
I actually think the issue is a lack of decisions being made rather than bad decisions.
Things have been allowed to drift.
We are now playing catch up which could lead to irrational decisions.
It makes sense that we have done little preparation as the CEO has just joined and a number of new key staff are on gardening leave / working notice.
I think we’ll see a better run transfer window next summer.
I’m willing to bet that we end up signing one of the above.
