is that all you`ve got? ?
i thought all the grammar police had bored themselves to death.
Nobody hates the Grammar Orcs more than me but that was quite amusing to be fair.

what! -he used an accent thingy as a weapon against me ffs!Nobody hates the Grammar Orcs more than me but that was quite amusing to be fair.
Well in for a penny really, if you don't think politicised gestures are appropriate then to be consistent it's fair to say you would be against all of them. Otherwise you're just in favour of gestures you support which is rather narrow minded.
We have minutes silences all the time, for people with literally no connection to Everton and nobody complains. I quite like them actually, if only for the accompanying roar when they finish. But within that crowd there will be many people for whom it means a great deal and that should be respected.
I don't think bringing taking the knee up is as odd as bringing up a DFS sale. Are you seriously telling me you are surprised there's a minute's silence for the Queen? Do you examine and criticise the qualification for everyone who has had a minute's silence or just this one to suit your agenda?
Everton twitter has said anyone disrespecting the anthem will be punished if caught.
As a historian, please can we have sources for these figures. How many Indians were killed under British rule?
35 million Indians
Contrary to the myth that Britain gave many 'gifts' to India, the British Raj was a cruel and oppressive regime responsible for the deaths of an estimated 35 million Indians.
There you go, the Internet is indeed a vast area of information.
I don't think its strange at all for there to be a minutes silence for the queen. There will however be 2 national 2 minutes silences accessible to the vast majority of the country within a little over a week. Them also mandating these to be held within football grounds is what irks me. All other crowd silences, or showings of solidarity, almost without exception, are decided at a club level.
Truth is, I'll not be booing or making a single noise during this nationally mandated minutes silence/moment of reflection and public mourning period, as some people would get upset if we were to do that and the would never be an aim of mine. I'll just stand dead eyed, wondering who will score the first goal and what colour will they wear. I will never however sing GSTK, nor will I be applauding on 70 minutes.
How about turn around during moment of silence, still showing respect to the dead by not booing, but also sending a message that we do not support the royal family?
We have silences and applause for stuff all the time though? Half the time the crowd starts clapping in the 24th minute and i'm looking round trying to see what it's about only to find it's because a bloke died 2 weeks ago and 24 was his favourite number or something. It's just how things are, it seems a bit weird to make out like it's a strange decision to have something for the actual queen of the country we're playing in but totally normal to have one for other people or events.I don't understand why football has taken it upon themselves to force us to mourn the death of an old woman. Its not like nobody has had a chance to do it. They could go walk past her coffin if they really want to. Just play football FFS.
Id even go so far as to say that if you feel you need to use football as a platform to mourn, then football isn't for you.
lets not let the club down! you can imagine the media will be all over this if we dont behave. its a few mins, lets not tarnish the clubs name.
So we'll be a joke for another new reason.Brainwashed. Club and its fans should stand proud and independent.
I agree with most of that, except I think this National Anthem is a one off for the Queens demise so I will stand silently on this occasion, I usually just sit them out in silence of course.Any protests should be against the National Anthem, not the minute's silence.
Show respect for those who want to grieve.
But don't be complicit in giving credibility to a King who no one elected. Charles is not my King, or yours. I don't recognise his right to be head of state. The idea of standing up and singing God Save The King is offensive to me, I won't be doing it, not sure that booing is necessarily the best idea, but I hope that fans treat the National Dirge with the contempt that it deserves.
I just remembered. The UK will have (another) 2 minute silence at 8.00 pm on Sunday. Why, no idea.
Match going blues are gonna be grieved right out after that, the Goodison silence, the anthem, and the clapping.
Prayers and thoughts to all of you.
Exactly the same for me.People can, and will show respect in their own ways.
The question is whether to audibly protest or not isn't it?
Sometimes in life, things happen in front of you that you can't control. All you can control is your reaction.
I wouldn't boo my worst enemy when they snuff it.
So I wouldn't be arsed booing at a football pitch regarding the death of an 96 woman I've never met.
