Think 39 league apps are enough to tell if he is still up to the job. £10m is enough gamble.
That's exactly it. We will take the 10m hit on 20 apps (how many is he on now?) Frank will have figured him out well enough by then for him to have actually come good or not.

My bet would be we try to shift him in Jan and one of the promoted teams that are struggling take him for 5-10m.

Is it a further 20m when he hits 40 apps?

Another £10m?

That should have been done first. It's going to likely cost us 6 points at the very least until we have one in place.

There's plenty of scope to moan at this board over that.
Suuuuure. Overpaying for a third option striker is definitely the best way to set your team up for success for the next 3-4 years.

Or, rather than pay 1st day premiums they can carefully try and get good deals for a really good players, who will play 100 matches over the course of years, and no one will care about the first 2.

Narrative seems to be shifting about our financial position. Reading a lot more positive spin articles about our spending and position etc.
