People really think we're gonna sign and throw him in straight away with no training ? It doesn't work like that
Football doesn’t really work that way though depending on the player. A player with such a specific skill set and specialist role can walk into any team and perform their role. Granted a player needs time to get a grasp of the philosophy/build up etc to have maximum impact but as part of the negotiations a player will be well versed in what a team expects of them and where they fit into a system from the off.

Don't want the homophobe anywhere near the club.
Sod putting our desperation for signings ahead of our strong principles. Other clubs do that. Not Everton.
Keep gestures and politics outside of football as it was always meant to be. Otherwise we would all be taking knees in rainbow shirts wearing more armbands than Vitor Pereria

He has a right to follow his religion without being cancelled.

Gestures and politics ARE part of football. We did both last week with the friendly to support Ukraine.

Should we turn a blind eye now because we are in need of a midfielder ? .
For me, no.

Theres been a hell of a lot of progress in football recently with Rainbow laces, lots of positive pride stuff. Everton has been at the forefront.

Signing this player is not a good fit.

We should always have our principles. Of course it's your choice to decide if you agree.

My principle right now is to stay in the league another season anything else I don’t give a rats arse about

I don't really understand why somebody has to forgoe their religious beliefs to please someone elses beliefs. It doesn't make him homophobic. I quite admire him taking a stand to stick to his principals. Even if I don't necessarily agree with them. Also don't really understand what business it is of anyone elses.

These are my principles, and if you don’t like them I have others…

so because Gueye didn`t tow the progressive politics agenda you think he`s homophobic? Zaha didn`t take the knee because he knew BLM was a scam, if he was white he would`ve been slaughtered for it. LGTBQ is bogus too and maybe Gueye knows it as well
