Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. Hope you are having a lovely day. It's been a funny old day here weather wise, Warm but ridiculously windy (my tomato plants all got blown over in their tubs, had to shelter them between the bins!) and really overcast. Looks like it is about to pour but has not. Very odd.
Paid my last visit to Cookie this morning. She was still alive so job done. lol
Love the thunderstorm story @Gwladysover . My Nan was the same- made us switch everything off and had similar fears about the lightning coming down the chimney. Hope you enjoyed your day in Lincoln.
It's my Dad's birthday today. He's 85, I haven't spoken to him yet because he has been having one of his dialysis sessions. I bought him an air fryer - he's been on about getting one for ages. He uses a deep fat fryer for his chips but it's too messy he says. He also does love a gadget so I think he'll have fun with an air fryer. I'll ring him in about an hour, it gives him a chance to get home and have his tea.
I'm going on a hen do to York on Saturday. I thought my hen do days were well over! It's one of my work friends. She's getting married on Sept 8th. I'm the same age as her Mum who is also going to the hen do! The bride to be doesn't drink so we have activities planned, including Harry Potter golf and a ghost bus tour round York. We're also doing a cocktail making class - which might be the only alcohol involved on the day. I will miss our first match though - could be a good thing but our record against Chelsea at home is decent.
I notice Liz Truss did a rapid U turn today about regionalising Civil Service Pay. So much for levelling up and no way to keep the former Red Wall voters on board. She's an idiot. Although it's always the same - in the absence of anything constructive , have a go at the Civil Service.

Had a lovely day in Lincoln thanks. Sun shone in the afternoon, very muggy and windy there too. Happy birthday to your Dad. I have an air fryer and I think it’s brilliant, does oven chips really well. Have a great time on the hen do and congratulations on getting Cookie through the week.

Yes the GP was supposed to refer me but it was the psychiatrist who forgot(IMO) to do the rest after my appointment at the beginning of july. I totally agree about GPs though, it's so difficult to get a face to face appointment these days.
The whole system is shot if you ask me. Rang the hospital regarding my eye appointment with the consultant the other day as I was unable to make it only
to be told they don’t re-book, I have to go back on the waiting list and there’s no telling how long that is! I won’t hold my breath.

Delighted to hear about Cookie. Great news.

Not so good news on Dom. Career over apparently and we're getting relegated again. Only on GOT. Club not said anything yet. Just a twitter comment from El Bobby saying he's picked up a knock and is a doubt for the weekend. If he doesn't make the game I'd play Dele up front.

Luz Truss though. God help us. I did warn you all about replacing Boris. ?

She called me back and low and behold, he has just done it, they had such a backlog lol my arse, he forgot!! Anyway 22nd August got a physical health check and ECG then see the Dr on 5th September to start my meds. At least it's sorted now I suppose but another month isn't great tbh.
At least you have a date now well done for that . Stay strong that man.

There's another website reporting that it's his ACL. Which is bad news for him and us if it's true. I feel so sorry for him. He must be devastated. I'll wait for official news before I start being really sad.

ACL is horrific but if it’s his quad again then I’m afraid we need to find a buyer and quickly.

But in perspective we have America and China eyeballing each other. Between this and Moscow it’s like a race to the end.

Yes good to see the Govt have unveiled their new flagship policy ....... levelling down.

Morning everyone ,

Still to be confirmed but according to a couple of sites it's not looking good for DCL. Not sure why he has to go to London for scans - we do have MRI machines in Liverpool.

We needed a back up striker befofe looks like we need 2 now. I think Fred's right Dele will play as a false 9 v Chelsea.

Looks like I've got DCLitis as I've got an elbow injury. Suspect it's a bit of tennis elbow after the repitition of shovelling the gravel.

More rain over night but a bit cloudy now and forecast is for sunny weather for the next 2 weeks which is just as well as we are have the outside of the house painted next week. A really good group of lads come down from your way @anjelikaferrett and 4 of them blitz it in 2 days.

Have a lovely day y'all.
