If paying 15m over 3 years is a spend
I will happily do so

Be interesting to see how its structured
As we certainly aint payed cash
It was you that said the manager would have no money to spend and we wouldn't make any signings.

No shame in being wrong or listening to and believing someone who is wrong.

Most transfers will be paid over time, nothing unusual in that.

Yeah Gilmour should’ve honestly been a target from the day Lampard got in the door. Has massive potential and doesn’t seem too rated at Chelsea anymore after a poor season in a poor side. Think it’s a safe bet to say his value will never be lower and the fact that Lampard was the one that he burst onto the scene with probably means they’ve got a good connection already.

No brainier signing, then again the leadership at the club haven’t shown themselves to have much of a brain in quite some time.
I think we're stuck in a bit of a logjam with Chelsea as they can't get their targets in and therefore can't reach a decision about who leaves permanently or on loan, it may be that we prefer a loan for Gilmour but don't want to go early in case Gallagher / Broja can be loaned later in the window. But yeah, he feels like one who could be got on a permanent in a deal that could be structured without too much up front, so if they're happy for him to go on a permanent we should be all over it without having to worry about a loan.

Checked it out mate, he's only missed 5 games through injury the past two seasons (none last season) not counting COVID
He had a fair few niggles in his first season... Few suspensions too IIRC. But still fitter than Allan and would improve us.

But he's 33 in September, so it has to be a short-term, cheap deal.

0.27 goals per match. That's his career PL record.
And whats his record since he stopped being played as a winger when he was kid?

What are some names you think are the 14/15 goal a season strikers we should be signing, just as an idea of the level you are thinking.

DCL's goal average for the last 3 seasons is 0.43 per 90. A goal average any striker we got in would do well to match. The main concern is his ability to bounce back from his injury and stay fit.

Does that mean to us I wonder or just from Chelsea in general? He might just be saying they’re both being sold, we’re only guessing it’s both to us.

I’d definitely take it though, legitimately even if it was a pay for Gilmour but you have to take Barkley as well deal. Gilmour would start for us and be massive for the future on a permanent, Barkley can sit on the bench and be a squad player, which in fairness we do need. Would hopefully leave us open to end up loaning Gana and Cornet or Broja too.

If we finished the window with Tarkowski, Vinagre, McNeil, Gilmour, Barkley and most likely Gana and Cornet on loan to buy next year all whilst the only loss in terms of contributing players is Richy that’d be a really good window in my book and would add massive balance and quality to the squad which have both been needed for a long time.

barkley and gana based on f all.

cornetto will be now off as we’ve signed mcneil

;)
