Mate mate... why are you getting so wound up?? lol chill!
Frustration that you can just see what is coming...

Take Newcastle for example, Howe comes in and strictly 4-3-3, everyone knows their role and they were 1 or 2 points off top half and 7 points off Europe despite being dead and buried (By our fans) at Xmas. Our squad is every bit as good yet Frank came in and flip flopped on systems which cost us points. If Frank had the same attitude/intelligence that Howe had we would have been saved from relegation a month earlier.... This 5 at the back he consistently keeps going back to is costing us points....

I don`t want to waste half a season "trying" the 5 at the back when we know it doesn`t work, it could cost us our manager or our Premier League status. I did call all this last season, all too predictable.

I don`t know what I`m missing, because clearly I am, his preference is 4-3-3 but we are going to play 5 at the back all pre season until we sign new players which might not turn up until we are the best part of a month in to the season...

That doesn`t seem like joined up thinking to me.

Then we will go to the 4-3-3 which we haven`t trained and played?!?
I hear you and I agree with what your saying. I definitely want to see signs of progress rather than sticking to a 5.. but in fairness we don’t have a single midfielder who can play the 6 role (other than Warrington it seems) that allows us to do that. If we don’t see this addressed in the next couple of weeks I will start to get concerned but I’d be amazed if we haven’t got some players in to address this soon. Frank’s comments suggest stuff is happening. I think it will be Winks which isn’t a name most want but I think they’ll be surprised how much difference someone competent in the 6 role (which he is) will make.

FL said as much, that he’s got a bunch of CBs but no real 6 so that’s why he opted for a back 3. In Echo today.

....and spent £100mill on a new backline and spine of the team...

Matt Target (Loan) - is he any better than Vitaly Mykolenko?
Dan Burn - Is he any better than Mina, Keane, Godfrey or Holgate?
Chris Wood - Is he any better than DCL?
Kieran Trippier - We bought Patterson but is Trippier any better than Coleman?
Bruno Guimaraes - Good CM, probably better than what we have....

Whilst they did this dont forget their most appearance holders were...

Miguel Almiron
Joelinton
Jonjo Shelvey
Callum Wilson
Jacob Murphy
Karl Darlow
Allan "No end product" St Maximin
Frederico Fernandes
Isaac Hayden
Jamal Lewis
Ciaran Clark
Jeff Hendrick
Sean Longstaff
Jamaal Lascelles
Matt Ritchie
Fabian Schar
Ryan Fraser
Dwight Gayle
Andy Carroll

I think that is a much worse team than ours but it worked much better than our formation flip flopping....

Target...yes because it took a while for Mykolenko to settle and even then he's not as experienced in the league.

Wood...yes, because Dom was injured

Burn...100% better than what we have. And Mina was injured.

Trippier...100% better than what we have.

Guimaraes....100% better than what we have.

So they had a better back line, better midfield, and a premier league proven target man until Callum Wilson got fit.

They invested heavy and quick in the weakness of their team. We brought in 2 inexperienced fullbacks and 2 midfielders who weren't fit.

We flipped a system due to injuries and having a horrific squad.
