Everton don’t have a great deal to spend this season with the well documented FFP restrictions, you won’t see a net spend of over £35/40m without further sales. So at least they’re trying to extract full value out of how they spend, with the obvious caveat being season starts in 3 weeks.
Maybe a tad more if the Moise Kean business gets sorted out.

Need to work on shifting some out tho , problem is they're crap and no one wants to pay for them.

Next season is going to be a relegation scrap. No doubt it my mind. Our midfield can’t pass and are clumsy. If Lampard is insistent on three at the back then we are reliant on Mina staying fit otherwise we are back to two of Holgate, Keane or Godfrey in there with Tarkowski. Recipe for disaster. And to top it all off our creativity is almost zero because we have a combination of an atrocious midfiled and poor forwards now Richi gone (Grey can get in the bin)

We need at least 4 players in asap. The ones linked so far do not inspire much confidence. But that doesn’t even give us the squad depth needed for the inevitable injuries. Huge mess.
100% we’re in relegation fight. From a mid table team we’ve lost Digne, James, Siggi, Richie over last two season and replaced with far poorer, less productive players.

Any hope I had for the season was on the basis the board got such a fright last season that they would have pulled out all the stops to get rid of the flops and bring in new midfielders and forwards.

As it is, we’ve sold our best player and are scratching around for loans and cheap deals.

If you look at our attackers and centre midfielders it’s scary. Can’t be three worse teams in the league. Our only chance is to sit deep and counter. Trying to play will be suicide.

3 weeks before playing chelsea...fair to say that it's unlikely we'll get some business done in that time and probably we're looking at completing some last minute business towards the end of the window meaning no time for the new recruits to get settle in as such...poor state of affair.

Look at the midfield options: Allan, Doucourre, Iwobi, Davies, Gomes and Gbamin. There’s no one there getting 5 goals and assists - they’re lucky if they’re getting that between them. It’s woeful - defensively/physically weak, attacking/creativity nil. Whatever combination you use is terrible. No protection for the defence and no support for the attack.

Can’t see how we can play 3 at the back with that midfield but Lampard’s going to try. Going to need a Herculean effort from Kev Thelwell if we’re to have any chance.

Encouraging comments from Lampard that he’s on the phone to Thelwell every day and they have a great working relationship. Hopefully the start of some joined up recruitment activity for once.
