Transfer Rumour Morgan Gibbs-White

I don't want to see us spending 30 million on any single player this window. Most of the time they see us coming and we end up paying over and above for a player not worth even half the price. Would rather Thelwell and his scouts did some proper leg work and brought us in about 3 or 4 decent lads with potential in much needed areas and for less than 30 million for the lot. It is doable if you put the work in.
4 premier league players for 30m?
Not in 2022.
Anyone bought for 15m is considered cheap or comes with baggage / high wages that the selling team need to shift

My guess is we will use both loans trying to get options with both to spread the cost to next season (Gallacher we will 100% hold a spot for in that regards until deadline day if needed) And try use whatever we have to buy 2-3 more, no idea if we'll loan from abroad or not.

My best guess would be try buy MGW and possibly Gilmour (or loan winks) Loan Gallacher (with option) and try bring in another cm.or forward.

Still wouldn't shock me to see a deadline day bringing in of Gueye either on a late loan.

Think that makes sense, and can see two domestic loans being used.

Would be good to use foreign loans, still think maybe Ancelotti may help us/Frank out. That could get us 3 or even 4 in, with Tarkowski in top for no initial fee.

Did you just say Davies and Allan are best as attacking midfielders?

Davies is equally useless in all positions but he can’t play holding mid.

Allan is best pushing forward trying to press the opposition. He’s not got enough pace to play the holding role. He’s not an attacking midfielder but he’s still better in one of the two ahead of the sitter in a three.

MGW 60 Championship games + 46 Premier games under his belt. Gordon 49 Prem + 11 Championship. Still some want to argue that Gordon is so much better. #BlueTintedSpecs

Theres no doubt MGW has more games under his belt. The reason why Gordon has achieved more, is hes scored a lot more goals, in a lot fewer top flight games.

Davies can easily play a 6, he would also have tactical discipline.

Now whether he could play it at the required level we shall have to see.

Hopefully it would be one step closer to the exit door for Tom Davies if this lad joins.

It’s odd though that we seem to have lots of players who all want to play in the 2 attacking mid slots in a midfield three but not many who can play DM. Doucoure, Allan , Dele, Iwobi, Davies, plus MGW if he joined, are all best in the attacking two positions.

We’ve only got Gbamin who plays the DM position and Allan as inadequate cover before we’re looking to academy players or Holgate.

I was thinking this earlier, but honestly I'd play Holgate as a 6. I still think hes the best 6 we have, by a reasonable distance too.

I agree Allan definitely can’t play DM. I think Davies has played his best football in that position though personally, whatever your bar for that may be.
