Billy Boggs 25m fee, 50k a week
Jimmy Jacobs 25m fee, 50k week
Harry Biggs 25m fee, 50k week
James Billy 25m fee, 50k week
Biggie James 25m fee, 50k week

Year 1
10m paid to each selling club on purchase, 250k a week wages = 63m
Year 2
7.5m paid to each selling club, 250k a week wages = 50m
Year 3
7.5m paid to each selling club, 250k a week wages = 50m

Do you see how this could be become an issue? @Zatara

Its 18m BEFORE Tarks, BEFORE we give Pickford a new contract and whomever else we give a new contract to.

Take out 5m for Tarks, like 2/3m for Pickers.

Reckon Ant Gordon is also getting a bump.
A smart club low on money would sell Pickford and not give a new contract to a 29 year old.

No Zat, we have to pay clubs for the players we bought, it comes out of our money, we spend like 85% of our income on wages and that was before we lost our USM sponsorship.

Look, ive no idea whats going on, as I said earlier, its way to complicated for me to work out.

All I know is that we spent 1.7million last Summer and we just did everything we could to get our best player out the door as a matter of urgency.

They are not the actions of a club thats about to spend 100m on players or is even able.

You are focusing solely on FFP, focus on PROFIT AND LOSS, no fancy tricks, money in, money out.

The only thing worth focusing on is FFP + P&S regulations.

Those are what prevents spending.

Without spending we cant bring players in...without players in we cant then build a strategy going forward.

The reason Richarlison was sold was to allow spending. Otherwise we'd be in the same boat as last summer.

Well youve used some 'interesting' numbers here.

If we look at it like this...

£100mil in transfer spend
Year 1 = £20mil
Year 2 = £20mil
Year 3 = £20mil
Year 4 = £20mil
Year 5 = £20mil

On the books its £20mil a season/year. Thats how it would be calculated.

For the wages, if we sign 4 players for example then thats £10mil a year.

So £30mil a year to sign those 4 players.

The trick is to run this model every season....but simultaneously sell players every season at 100% profit to cover the costs

If we run the model for 3 seasons.
Year 1 = 4 signed
Year 2 = 4 signed 2 sold
Year 3 = 4 signed 2 sold

Our outgoings would be £300mil but our incomings would be £200mil.

Meanwhile, were also selling players such as Richarlison...next summer someone else...and moving on players on high wages.

A) we aren't a smart club
B) nobody has ever shown interest in buying him
Create the interest. Pope went to Newcastle so there's someone who might have thought about it. Kasper Schmeichel is 57 so Leicester might. Figure it out.

But yeah we're dumb so whatever.

Two ways to look at this...

1: Should have sold, banked profit and signed Bazunu

2: A quality keeper and a top centre forward are the two areas which win you games from nothing.

We have two of them, both in the England side/squad and could be kept for 5 seasons easily.

Good to have that stability while building the rest of the squad.

I look at it as half the league bought competent keepers on the cheap so having no money we should probably look to that spot as one to cut. As you said, sell and buy young. It's the only choice when you have no money and limited assets.

So we are buying players for 20m and then selling them after a year for 50m? 4 times?

That seems very achieveable.

Create the interest? He's the Nation's number 1, if nobody is interested for that reason, what else can we do, list him on eBay?

It's mad the way people say "Just sell XXXXX" like there's a reason they are at Everton and it's not cos they have massive interest.

Nobody is interested because they're seeing him as untouchable. If he's clearly not untouchable well...

No. Its all there in the example.

We spend £300mil but we bring in £200mil over each 3 year period.

Whether that is solely from recycling players or also lowering wages or commercial business.

E.g if we spent £100mil today on 4 players all U23 age.

Then next season we spent £100mil on another 4 players all u23 aged

Could we not generate £100mil to cover that second cost? That may be from a similar commercial USM deal of £20mil...it could be selling DCL + Kean for £75mil and one or two others. To add to £100mil

I think then in year 3 from the £200mil wed already invested in 8 players we should have seen 2 of them double in value to cover a £100mil total sale...and reinvest another £100mil.

Thats how FFP/P&S works.

Yeah sorry Zat, but none of this is attached to any sort of rational thinking, it's a firm no from me.

Great idea, but it's cloud cuckoo land.

I feel confident that we won't spend 100million in this transfer window based solely on selling Richarlison. We can certainly revisit things if an other sales are made.

We probably wont do...but we CAN do.

Its also shown to work but people wanting to spend £16/20mil on Dennis when he was signed for £3mil last summer and performed for 2.5 months.

Its all about forward planning and basic mathmatics with sensible risk analysis.

If we spend LESS than £49mil weve generated from selling Richarlison then that would be childlike and braindead.

You need to have risk in investments.
