ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Does anyone know what happened in Lille then ??

Becasue my view on it was that it escualted as some fans starting to throw bottles at the police who went into the crowd ot target 1 or 2 known infividuals !?!
I was there standing on a balcony overlooking the square. Others may have a different perspective but what I saw was a man who ran from a side street into a peaceful party atmosphere square full of Blues. He was chased by 4-5 men. The latter caught him at the far end of the square and held him on the floor. I think the immediate general sense was what the hell just happened there. I think maybe some of the crowd closer to where the guys were holding him down went over to see if they needed help. The 4-5 immediately formed a defensive arc and started pepper-spraying those who had come to help them. It all happened very quickly and I don’t think even at that point did me and other onlookers from the balcony realise that the 4-5 were undercover police. A cafe owner told me the next day that the arrested man turned out later to be a local thief.

But actions have reactions and reactions have consequences. the reaction to pepper spray was for those closest to the spray confronted the 4-5 men. It spiralled out of control really quickly. A bit hazy memory but I’m pretty sure one of the 4-5 fired a tear gas canister or two into the centre of the square. At that point all hell broke loose. That’s when I personally realised they were undercover cops. the bottles were thrown toward the edge of the square where the police were. Within moments there French uniformed police were everywhere in vehicles and firing more tear gas. It was bedlam in the square and as the tear gas reached the balcony we fled down the edge of the square into a side street.

"The intelligence services had alerted the authorities, two days before the Champions League final, of the risks surrounding this match, anticipating around “50,000 English supporters” without tickets or “in possession of counterfeit tickets”. Dated May 25, a note from the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH) written in conjunction with the intelligence services, of which AFP was aware, reports “about 50,000 English supporters present in the French capital (who) will not be ticket holders”.

“Some of them”, is it written in this document widely distributed in the police services, “will be in possession of counterfeit tickets and will try to use them to gain access to the stadium”. “Others will attempt to trick into the sports arena, using for example the uniforms of stewards, UEFA staff, medical staff, cleaners, etc.,

They had them pegged right from the off.
email SSN, BBC Sport, the rs Echo, the FA, and ask their for their comments.

This sounds bad, but im sick of seeing reds telling lies about incidents, so it makes me doubt any of them.

1 was talking over his video, pointing out all the armed police at the LFC end, and saying its a joke that none are at the madrid end....while in the video it clearly shows armed police at the Madrid end.

1 guy posts his video of a so-called foiled terrorist attack, and him seeing knives and guns....clearly zero weapons in the video and the "suspects" smiling and laughing with police.....people agreeing with him in the comments saying they was also in that bar and seen the same guns!!

Another chap, was with his kid and had a bad time, and thats awfull....but he then starts to tell people to delete vids and pictures that show fellow reds acting up...and he wrote "Delete these mate, they are fuelling the flames....have you seen what they are saying about us...." ......So his child was in tears, and he is wanting to delete evidence of trouble makers.

It feels like im in a simulation, and everyone is in a cult around me.

This fella does my head in but theres now a close up video of the same amount of riot police at the madrid end

Proper salty from Steve there, absolute cringe.

He needs to remember boxing isn’t always decided on points. Liverpool were perhaps at one point winning on points, until Madrid landed a knockout punch.
Its all "ifs" "buts" and "maybes" this season they are just about the best cup team in the country and that's all they are. FACT

The Liverpool manager told them all to turn up.

If you increase the amount of people, you increase the amount of trouble.

It’s that simple mate.

You dont necessarily increase the trouble, but you do increase the time it takes to scan tickets.

The stadium organisers would have budgeted for say 15-20k in say 2.5 hours. If you have twice as many people milling about, and some with fake tickets it is going to add a lot more time. This is before you get to the issue of the stadium being attacked by terrorists previously.

Theres no doubt to me, those factors caused the delay. I don't think they dealt with fans with, legitimate tickets well, but the delay was caused by the weight of people.

I have no idea why Klopp told ticket less fans to turn up. There was almost some suggestion it was sticking it to UEFA to do so. In reality they were just meaning fans with tickets had to wait longer to be let in, the area to do so was overcrowded and in all likelihood some legitimate ticket holders couldn't gain entry for reasons of safety.
