Personally I think he’s bang average I get people can have bad games but against us In the 5-4 cup game he was shocking. The only thing he’s got is he can pass quite well at times. But he has absolutely nothing else.
Worrying if our scouts like him, he’s hardly had a sniff at spurs in a good few years. Oliver skipp was getting more minutes than him at the start of the season.

I’d rather take a punt on Gilmore, at least he potentially could go to a very good level. Winks at 26 is not getting better anytime soon
I'd be surprised if Mourinho ever picked him again after that. One the worst individual performances you'll ever see.

He did look like he had talent at one time, but he's a bit of a Cleverley.

Y'all got any more of them transfer rumors

Very raw. Need an experienced starter.
Nonsense.

We’ve bought player after player with “PL experience” and a “winning mentality” and look where it got us.

Arguably our last REALLY good season was Martinez’s first when we had a great mix of experience and raw, young talent.

I’d be all in on KLP (within financial reason) and hopefully some similar dynamism in the centre of the park, regardless of supposed experience.

I don’t buy into this. Paying £30m for a kid. And he doesn’t look physically strong nor quick.

Martinez‘s first season was built from Moyes’s foundation. He then get found out the fraud.

We have way too much experience right now and not enough youth. Mykolenko, Gordon and Patterson if he ever plays are the only players that can be counted as young right now. I guess maybe Branthwaite but he's 5th string.

He’s direct and carries the ball forward. He scores and assists and is clearly very highly rated in order for the conversation to have even progressed this far.

Which player(s) with a wealth of experience do you think we should bring in, instead?

“PL experience” is a footy agent’s equivalent of selling a house that’s “full of character”. It’s what you highlight when there are precious few obvious positives to point out. It’s what got us VdB, Alli and El Ghazi. Extend to “top level” or “big club” experience and you can blame it for Andre Gomes as well.

I don’t know. Wish you are right if we sign him as a replacement for our best player in Richy.

In that Martinez team I found Deulofeu to be super frustrating because he was so inconsistent and unpredictable and yet they were arguably huge positives to his game as well. I remember when he came on against Arsenal and scored the equaliser - their defenders were visibly terrified because we went at them ceaselessly.

That’s what we need more of in this squad. We’ve been so easy to defend against for years, now. If we can’t move the ball forward at pace it’s going to be another long old year. You don’t get that kind of movement from uninterested PL castoffs with the magic EXPERIENCE.

I'd argue that if you can structure the deal right, and have the payment at 20M or so plus bonuses then its a sensible signing. As long as he doesn't get destroyed by injuries then the worst that can happen is he gets sold in a couple of years and you still don't lose much money.

But that's the price for top championship players now. Benrahama and Watkins have set the bar.

Almost anybody we could persuade to sign for us will be a downgrade vs Richy. If we can get £50m+ for him, though, and sign KLP for £25m or so then we have a chunk to do some more business and sign some other dynamic, young players in key areas.

If we somehow found an absolute like-for-like replacement we’d still be exactly the same level of crap that just finished 16th. We have precious few valuable assets we can sell to make squad improvements. If we continue to play it safe with “PL experience” I virtually guarantee we’ll go down.

I don’t agree with you regarding devaluing our best player mate. He was signed for £35m rising to £50m so how on earth he is valued the same when he has proved that he’s our best player and becomes a starter for his national team that ranked number one in the world.
