ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They more than likely would not know their ticket is fake.

I don't expect that a bunch of fans have gone over there with a piece of card cut out from a cereal box that says "Tikket" on.

The dodgy tickets and poor management of legitimate tickets is a whole other argument.
Rumour is the kid on the right wore this ticket into the ground on his head

They said 2600 fake tickets had been accounted for
From Gerald Darmanin (interior minister)

"I would like to express our regrets with regard to the organisation of this final, because some people were not able to see the whole of the match.

"And, of course, I deplore also the errors that took place before this football match.

"It was noted there was massive fraud on an industrial scale and organisation for fake tickets because the pre-filtering by the Stade de France and the French Football Federation saw that 70 per cent of tickets were fake tickets coming into the stadium."

Darmanin also admitted police had been caught off guard by "local delinquents" at the stadium

Amelie Oudea-Castera, sports minister: "What happened, first of all, was this mass gathering of the British supporters of Liverpool without tickets, or with fake tickets."

Darmanin claimed 2,700 people with genuine tickets couldn't get in and they would be compensated.

No, listen to the very reputable journalists who were there, and ask yourself, do you think 40,000 people turned up to the stadium with fake tickets? They've also said 70% of the capacity tried to use fake tickets - which would have meant 175,000 people turned up.

That doesn't add up.
I’m still waiting to hear about thousands of Real fans being teargassed and battered. How can I have missed such reports? Could it be because it never happened? When you have “previous”, do not be shocked by the police overreacting.

That is literally what happened and even the French government have said this today

I'm not saying 'let's blame the French'

Why would local lads who had been hanging around not try and bunk in to watch two of the best teams in Europe play? Come on mate.
You would maybe bunk in to watch your own team play. You are not bunking in to watch two random teams. I get the desperation of actual supporters.

It's all very black and white this isn't it?

Mate, I've seen people bunk in at Goodison. A few when we've been to Wembley. Granted it's been the odd one or two but it happens. Blue tinted glasses off. It happens everywhere.

The problem I have with the (British media) reporting of this is that it absolves RS fans of any blame whatsoever. There isn't even a critical debate. It's as if none of their fans did anything wrong. It wasn't them. It was local youths.

Granted some local youths could have bunked in but so would a fair few RS. There didn't seem to be the same issues with the Madrid fans.

I still think the Police were far too heavy handed. But the RS had their part to play.
I agree, but I won't let tribalism get in the way of what was a very dangerous situation created mostly by the failure of authorities to act properly and those same ones are now lying - because there's no way that 40,000 turned up with fake tickets

I don't think many Madrid fans did get gassed. They did have trouble getting into the stadium, which is what I said earlier...

because its breaking the law and putting themselves, and others as well as the authorities in danger. personal responsibility.

I’m not on here to defend kopites but if 40000 had been turned away from the ground because they’d bought fake tickets we’d be hearing a bit more about it from them wouldn’t we? Not like they don’t like to whinge.
Exactly. 40,000 people is 1/2 the capacity of the Stade de France. It's a lot of fake tickets. And how would they have any clue on that number?
