ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The red media machine is in full flow at the minute isn’t it. Being honest it’s not hard to understand what’s happened. The french police don’t need any excuse to get heavy handed, unfortunately for them a certain amount of fans gave them the reason to. This situation was always going to, and always does happen with them, especially when you’ve got gnashers telling them to go over without tickets.

Unfortunately for the fans that were treated harshly and missed the game with legitimate tickets, they need to look no further than their own fans to blame for that. But they won’t do that, they’ll blame everyone else, even though the Madrid fans at the same stadium has no issues.

Funny to watch them squealing all over social media because us Blues are dining out on their defeat on Saturday. What did they expect, sympathy?

They've obviously quickly forgot themselves dining out over our hopeless season and the prospect of us going down. Even as their side was going for four trophies they were more interested in watching, and laughing, at our horrible season.

I post this whilst on my dinner hour at work and all my usually chirpy RS workmates (none of which actually go the match) have been very quiet today. Can't think why. lol

They were badly treated. And the French government are doubling down on a clear lie.

Nobody should go to a footy game and get tear gassed

Our fans had the same experiences in 2014 in Lille

Some of them got a rough deal, but when a part of the crowd acts up, the crowd get treated as one.

Yep, I remember Lille, so the French cops over reacting is no great surprise.

I agree with this. It's quite clear that many innocent people were shamefully abused going to that match. UEFA and the French police have huge questions to answer. This point can be acknowledged and advanced simultaneously with the bitter truth that a segment of the Liverpool support are basically anti-social petty criminals. The club should be openly disassociating themselves and their law-abiding innocent majority from these thugs. Continental police forces expect the worst with English fans. And why wouldn't they? For too long a significant subset of them have utterly destroyed European town centres. Basically, they've got form. Turning up ticketless and storming the gates is not being a loveable scally. It's criminal, dangerous behaviour. It's inviting state-sponsored thuggery from police forces that are quite often infiltrated by the far right - and a blind eye from corrupt football administrators. It's basically raining that horror on the innocent.

They will all have a royal pardon and honour knighthood by the time this has finished, feel sorry for the genuine fans with tickets, but it was obvious last week when people were posting tweets of them advertising blag tickets.
The British media need to be braver than they are and tell the full story and not just the narrative of someone caught up in it with his kids.
Contact the guy who was touting blag tickets and get his side of it.
