ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Been looking on RAWK at the reactions after the weekend, and it's hilarious. The most common bleatings are their absurd claims that City get all the VAR decisions that they don't, and increasingly the constant use of their new 'word of the year', 'sportswashing', which is repeated parrot-fashion again and again and again and again. How many of these trumpets even know what it means? They probably think it refers to what their mothers do to their favourite red 'personal socks' after too many uses...

The absolute top of the heap though was the goon who actually had the utter brass-necked hubris to state (without a hint of irony) that Man City are so favoured and so corrupt that 'in a way it's a shame we are so good, as we make it look as if it's a level playing field'. Now, I've seen some deluded things before now, and that site is of course an absolute forest of them, but if he actually believes that load of old pony, I'm simply left shaking my head.

The stupid. It hurts...

Liverpool fans are rattled about Haaland. Apparently he won’t improve them, and he will probably flop hahahahahahah.

What gets me is their obsession with how much clubs spend as though they're all accountants tallying up the ins and outs. They want a closed shop so no one can get near them. Liverpool spending £100m on a player is good for the Premier League but anyone else is really bad.

That doesn’t even scratch the surface either. Shows you everything you need to know. The quadruple has just been propped up by referees all the way through, they wouldn’t be winning anything with some accurate refereeing. The Mane stuff in particular is a disgrace, he’s the dirtiest player in the PL by an absolute mile yet he’s been allowed to get away with it for years. What other player can do three elbow smashes in the same season and not get a red for any of them?!

They get their money organically the right way whereas others get theirs from their sport washing owners.

If the ‘right way’ is being sponsored by a bank linked to terrorist money laundering, furloughing your own staff, charging obscene season tickets that have priced out local fans, running crypto currency ponzi schemes, trying to join the super league, and being owned by a company with a proven past record for cheating and doping in baseball….then sure they’re doing it the right way

They're still probably crying about the boot to Ederson's face

I don't think any of them know what sportswashing means, as it's a bizarre concept.

When you point out that American firms, like Nike also use sports sponsorships/commercial relationships to soften their image (of exploitative child labour in sweatshops) that's never viewed the same way.

They are western/white though, so it's obviously held to a different standard to when people who aren't white do the same thing. It's the epitome of institutional racism, with most of their (white) followers too thick to be able to reflect to see it.

I mean even if you use the concept that states are using football clubs to launder their image. Has it actually worked? I'd say more people know of Saudi corruption now, than they did before they bought Newcastle. It doesn't work.

The idea there is a "right" and "wrong" way to make mega money is a complete fallacy. As Karl Marx pointed out 150 years ago, profit is theft of surplus value.

The wealthiest are the biggest thieves. I'm all for calling it out, but it's idiocy to point out it's ethical when it's white people, and unethical when it's brown people.

I’d rather Liverpool kept him. It’s his final season of his contract next year so they either pay a 31 year old mega money to extend (he’ll want the same as Salah) or they lose him for nothing.

Don’t need Bayern Munich giving them 50 mill for a player who will instantly go to rubbish once the PEDs wear off meanwhile Liverpool will be out getting the next speed merchant they can dope up.

I don't see Bayern paying that. I suspect Bayern will be tapping him up for a free transfer the following summer.
