So do people want the same approach again, as yesterday, against Chelsea?

We got lucky against Utd, but the luck has now run out. Refereeing decisions can't be expected to deliver us points, it has to be done by the team putting it in the back of the net. Yesterday we risked nothing and accepted defeat. We never went for them, too scared to get more than 1 or 2 players out of our half. I can't see us scoring this way without getting lucky... I think it was a blueprint for relegation, we cannot play like that and hope to win games

If we are to fall I'd rather it be from going for it rather than meek surrender. I'd get big Dunc to take charge and attack the final fixtures, blood and glory
But if we try to play against Liverpool with anything other than counter attacking football, we essentially gift Burnley an extra point on the goal difference because they'd rip us apart.

Obviously a trash headline but very difficult to disagree with the article.
I think his appointment was more a reflection on Everton's head in the sand mentality towards relegation than anything about Lampard himself. I think if we were mid table he'd be a reasonable manager to give a chance to, but at the point we were at we needed essentially a Big Sam situation but we wasted that one in 2017 when we weren't really in that much trouble.

It came from an attitude of "too big to go down" and seemingly this weird notion I get from fans of other teams "you're squad's actually good why are you in this position" before pointing at Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison as a reason we'll be ok. We appointed a manager for future seasons to keep us up with a terrible squad, forgetting the job required in the meantime. Madness really.

We should be a little more expansive against Chelsea. We're at home, they don't process one of the greatest frontlines in world football and they're not having the best of times themselves.

We should very much be playing on the counter but i'd hope we'll see more of the ball at Goodison.

I think you are placing too much emphasis on Lamps yes he has been a bit tactically naive at times but individual mistakes have cost us more points than the manager for me. The squad isn't good enough. Also yes we are better than under Benitez, we won one in fourteen under that clown.
Neither Lampard nor Benitez are good enough for Everton:

Lampard
P 12 W 3 D 1 L 8 GD -10 Pts 10 PPG 0.83

Benitez
P 19 W 5 D 4 L 10 GD -10 Pts 19 PPG 1.0

If Lampard gets 9 points from his final six games then I am more than happy to concede that he is a ‘better’ Everton manager than Benitez if it makes some fans feel vindicated about their views of Benitez. All managers are ‘victims’ of individual mistakes. Personally, I couldn’t care less about the manager. They come and they go. I do care about points and performances. Any manager that delivers points has my backing. If they deliver performances as well then I’ll be singing their names from the stands until they leave. Neither Benitez nor Lampard have proven to be good enough for Everton. Saying one is better than the other is like saying that Watford is better than Norwich. It’s not going to matter at the end of the season.

We came out and tried to play at spurs.

Lost 5-0.

Lampard is in a bit of a quandry. Because we're at home he's under pressure to go forward but Chelsea are a possession team so Anfield type tactics might be appropriate again, hoping that we can nick one or two on the break.

Rudiger won’t be playing hopefully, so put Rondon up front and get some crosses in.
