Relegation

Wonder if they may go for Rooney tbf.
I really can’t see it.

His time at Derby has been turbulent and looks likely to end in relegation.

I can’t see him wanting to leap into an alternate relegation. His next move will be to separate himself from the kind of chaos he’s experienced at Derby, or else he’ll be typecast as a manager of clubs in huge trouble.

Plus, I honestly can’t see him wanting to take a job where the only short-term measure of success would be to relegate Everton.

Their chairman:

"results this season have been disappointing and, while this was an incredibly difficult decision, with eight crucial games of the campaign remaining, we feel a change is needed to give the squad the best possible chance of retaining its Premier League status."

Doesn't sound like they are
Words only.....he couldnt say anything else could he?
They are gone now imo
come on Moyes ;)
;) ;) :pint2:

Very odd timing. Maybe there's more to it. I don't think Dyche was doing himself any favours by leaving McNeil out in recent weeks.

Dyche has done a fabulous job with Burnley and got the best out of the very limited resources he had available. Dyche gave Burnley the best chance of avoiding relegation; he knows the players, knows how to get the best out of them and been in this situation before. Crazy decision to let him go at this point.

It will be interesting to see who they bring in and it will give a strong indication of whether they're thinking about next season.

Good news for Everton, COYB

A lot of Burnley fans have been saying Mcneil was awful and could not understand how he was still in the team up to our game, as he has been playing pretty much every game

So that's 10 first team players out of contract in 8 weeks and no first team management team in situ.

I wonder how that makes you feel if your a Burnley player, especially out of contract.
Playing for a championship contract at Burnley or hoping for a premiership one at another club. Probably time to dial it in.

Well they have had a decent result tonight but I think its still too late. He has said he wants to stay at Derby under this new owner, I gather the two of them seem to be formulating some sort of plan to rebuild and come back up.

Nearer home
Chance to reshape squad
If go down he's got a tilt at promotion
If don't go down he sends message to EFC

More to Dyches departure than meets the eye.

They would have announced someone or be close to it if the point of sacking him is to have one last throw of the dice.

It's never simply a case of Pay Amount X and they will come, after Sunday they have 7 games left and there are not going to be a glut of candidates.
