Honestly, Burnley have proven they can dig in and win games. They've beaten Spurs and us at home in 2022, and won 3 nil away to Brighton. They also drew against Arsenal and United, and narrowly lost to Liverpool 1 nil.

Their game against West Ham is a huge one, as they could very well bounce back from the Norwich defeat against a side who play Lyon two days prior.

The 'best' team that they face before the end of the season is Spurs, so we know their on-paper fixtures are favourable versus ours.

I think it's incredibly naive to write them off at this stage. It doesn't matter to me how many they have won this season, this is a relegation fight where form goes out of the window. For me, they can easily win 4 more games, possibly even 5. They've actually only lost by more than two goals once this whole season, compared to our five times.

Who would have thought Newcastle would have won on that incredible streak over the past few months? If shows that anything is possible.

We are 100% still relying on the crowd to pull us through this, and I probably still make us likely to go down due to our respective fixtures.

There is no chance they win 4-5 games.
However, like you say, it’s not over yet. If they manage a jammy 0-1 at West Ham the tables will turn again and the pressure on us will be massive ahead of Leicester (which already is a must win).

I agree with this, not sure about them winning 5 games though.
I feel that we need to win 3 more games to stay up. Which is much easier said than done.

Watford away - our form is terrible away. Think worse in the league
Brentford at home - they've now decided to play football

Palace at home - hopefully they've nothing to play for and want to rest their players for the cup

I honestly think there’s no scenario on earth where you’d be confident in us staying up. I even think after the season has finished and we’ve finished 17th you’d still be talking about us getting a retrospective points deduction to send us down.

Listen brother, we are deservedly 17th and have difficult fixtures coming up. Burnley have easier fixtures and of that there can be no doubt. Just because we've beaten the worst United team in decades doesn't mean we're ace, especially when we go and lose every single away game, even against bloody Burnley.

I'll say this: if we had Burnley's fixtures I'd say we're 100% going to be safe. As it goes, we don't, and we're going to need to stay very tight and resilient until the end of the season- qualities we haven't displayed consistently (even for two successive games) for an awfully long time.

I’m not saying we’re ace at all, but you’re trying to make the case for Burnley being ace and saying they’ll win 5 games out of 8. If we had their fixtures there is absolutely no chance you’d be predicting us to win 5 from 8. You’d be saying “well we lost to Norwich and Watford”. Well Burnley have just lost to Norwich, yet you’re predicting them to slap teams like Wolves and Southampton all over the place who are far better teams than them?

Exactly, as simple as that (spawny win against WHU) and we're again talking about a game being the most important in decades - didn't go too well when that was the case against a truly terrible team on the back of successive defeats and who hadn't previously scored in hundreds of minutes of football.

I'm not making that case mister, I'm merely stating it's an incredibly precarious situation still and literally one or two fixtures can swing it 100% again. Burnley have experience in successfully fighting relegation, we massively buckle under pressure.

Look, I desperately hope we stay up, and that victory against United was just the tonic we needed - but there can be many twists and turns yet. This cannot go down to the final day because, despite them being terrible, there is no way we go to Arsenal and win.

No more Keane/Holgate or Jonjoe Kenny-shaped experiments please - stick with this xi and continue.

Let's win a minimum 3 home games and stay undefeated in 2 away games, and it's job done.

Against Liverpool we will have to sit back so they can’t hit us on the break as usual. Completely pack the midfield. Have Delph sweeping up with Allan VDB and Iwobi in front of him. Doucoure behind Richarlison who will chase anything knocked long. City played the ball down the channels to the space where Robertson and Alexander Arnold had vacated.
Yes i agree that should be the plan

They’ve won four games lol

Your posts here are a perfect example of skewed perspective, ignoring context only on one side of the argument.

The idea that a team who’ve won four all season and just lost to Norwich can “easily win four games” is bonkers.

The only game they’ve won recently is at home to a team with the worst away record in the league.

Burnley are never getting 16 points mate. Not a chance that 5 win and draw out of & games
