The team is terrible, our manager is a mistake, but we won't get relegated. Burnley showed at the weekend this is a relegation battle too far for them. And Watford are done. We should start looking at the next few games as preseason ahead of next year. Genuinely worried about how that will turn out.

I’d be utterly amazed if we get anything from Leicester

Going in to a home game against leicester with most of the first team back fit, us with much more to lose than them and Goodison under the lights. I actually think this is one of the games we have to at least draw, we should be able to.

Yeah, Leicester, and both Palace and Brentford, 7 points easy, I don't even doubt it, 2 night games too

If we need 12 that would mean Burnley are getting 16 points from their last 8 games when they have only got 24 from their previous 30

So you reckon Burnley… BURNLEY… are going to average (very nearly) 2pts a game across their remaining fixtures?

You know that’s almost Champions League form, right?

This is the pertinent statistic. Even allowing for the often bizarre results we see at the end of any season, Burnley have to double their wins total for the whole season in the next eight matches - and that only "gives the Clarets a chance of survival."

If they win those four - and lose the other four - we would need nine points from our last eight games to stay up. That's three wins, or two wins and three draws from eight. That's doable. And our "doable" starts to become even more doable if Burnely cannot manage the four wins.

There will be plenty twists and turns to come yet, but if we cannot get 8-10 points from here, well, we can't complain.

If we get back-to-back wins now by beating Leicester, and Burnley (as I'd expect) lose to West Ham, I think it's beyond them. A seven point gap and better GD surely cant be clawed back by a team as terrible as Burnley?
