This is the pertinent statistic. Even allowing for the often bizarre results we see at the end of any season, Burnley have to double their wins total for the whole season in the next eight matches - and that only "gives the Clarets a chance of survival."
If they win those four - and lose the other four - we would need nine points from our last eight games to stay up. That's three wins, or two wins and three draws from eight. That's doable. And our "doable" starts to become even more doable if Burnely cannot manage the four wins.
There will be plenty twists and turns to come yet, but if we cannot get 8-10 points from here, well, we can't complain.
