Can't fault today at all. Another nice "war" won at Goodison with crowd in good form again.

What I'm liking is there seems to be a human forcefield towards opposition attacks infront of Gladys, when was actually last time in the league opposition scored at that end, Brighton game? Last 10 minutes of Newcastle game ball was bobbling around penalty area but never going in and same today for first 20 minutes.

Not getting carried away as after last 1-0 home win team lost next three and that would put things massively in balance again and could happen looking at the fixtures.

Imagine how deflated Burnley must be feeling though on their long trip to Norfolk watching that. Won their relegation six pointer and yet will be kicking off tomorrow having to do exactly the same thing again, having to win to cut the gap to 1 point. Got a feeling Norwich will get a point off them.

I have to admit I didn't follow the game today as I don't think I could handle it but when I saw the result I had a teary eye or two. It matters even if I try to be nonchalant about it.
I'll admit it too, I just couldn't bare watching, it was (on paper) a guaranteed loss for me. Made up for everyone today...and tears are totally exceptable mate...its just relief.

Honestly can’t see a win away at Watford! I’ll show my arse on the forum if we pick up an away win in remaining games

I was disappointed with Leeds win as feel with their run in could've really started to reel them in again.

However that result has surely all but relegated Watford so have to believe with them demotivated and losing home games anyway can get at least a point down there if can defend like today.

The reality is that we have a lifeline again to safety. Nothing more than that.

I think we're going to have to win on the road and get a draw to go with another couple of home wins.

Then we'll just have to see if Burnley can match 38 points.

The Burnley defeat was damaging.

Sorry to add that sour note on a decent day for us, but we really need some exceptional results to make sure we're safe.

14 points from 9 games? Be shocked if they get remotely close to it

Depends on tomorrow I think. Win at Norwich which they'd have always viewed as must win regardless of Wednesday and they'd be on 27 points. As I keep on saying Southampton and Wolves at home back to back is games they could very well get 4 points from just as people are viewing Brentford and Palace as games where four points need to be secured (if not the full 6). Then they have Newcastle at home last day which is obviously a little easier than Arsenal away.

I'd much rather still have their run in of Norwich who are comfortably the worst team in the league, Southampton at home who've just shipped 6, Villa twice, Newcastle at home rather than still having to negotiate Chelsea, reds**t, Arsenal and Leicester twice personally but 4 points again is a nice gap and puts decent pressure on them overnight.

They also have Watford away so will be viewing that as must win like many on here are from Everton POV. And West Ham next Sunday straight after they go to Lyon so they could view that as potential point if they defend well.

Remember that random season Leicester were all but down and then won something stupid like 7 of their last 9 (can't remember what they did the following season....). Villa also got 8 points from last 4 games in 19/20 after not winning in about four months.

Today was great but really important not to get complacent imo as could easily go wrong quickly again with a Burnley win and then not beating Leicester.
