He has to stay til seasons end.

Go down, sack him.
Stay up, he’s got the first 6-8 weeks of next season to look the part or get rid.

But we're two mistakes from JJK/Godfrey away from having won the other day with a solid enough away performance. That's the thing. A Keane/Iwobi shocker at West Ham away from a point there because W Ham were doing f all.

The problem is bad defenders make more mistakes in set ups like Lampards. Look at our defence under Martinez there was a howler nearly every game.

If we go down with Frankel I dont think he'll bring us back up which is the worry.

I think there are comparable's that can be drawn on to show what the consequences may be though, Leeds, Villa, Newcastle, Forest, Wednesday etc are all modern day casualties. The thing that will undoubtedly do for us is the Financial mess we are in.

For me its not an option to even be considered and I'm not saying you have said that, as others have but there are case studies that have gone before that will give us an idea.

The other concern is that from what we have seen from our Board etc, while there may have to be a contingency plan in the event of relegation has it been given even more than a cursory glance? I m guessing we all know the answer to that.

Its a dreadful situation for sure.

if the worst happens, I cant see us recovering.

You listed Leeds (administration), Villa and Newcastle (both came back up) & then Forest and Wednesday who let’s be honest, weren’t as big when they went at all.

If we go down, the appointment of Benítez will surely be seen as the catalyst for this disaster of a season.
I'm starting to get the feeling that far too many people have already forgotten about Benitez and how awful he was and they're already blaming everything on Lampard because he hasn't made as good a start as we'd hoped for.
I'd love to see Lampard see out his contract and possibly even extend it. What Everton need is stability and growth and we can't do that with a constant turnover of manager. We need a manager that can stick around long enough to completely change not only the playing staff but the mentality of the club. Lampard has that winning mentality and rather than seeing him dragged down, I'd rather see him stick around and drag the club up to his level. You can see his huge disappointment in every interview he does so we need players that put the enough effort in to make him proud. I want to see at least 3 or 4 post match interviews before the end of the season where Lampard can be genuinely positive and compliment the players efforts and not have to mention mistakes and missed opportunities.

Unless Moshiri has got Allardyce lined up, or has decided to go with Ferguson, it's too late to make a change now.

There isn't a chance in hell that they'd have anyone else in place before the Leicester game, and if that's another loss or draw, we'll be going down regardless.

Lampard was an incredibly risky appointment, if not outright stupid, but the club will just have to live with the consequence now.

If we do go down, then I fail to find a defence for Lampard or the coaching team. I think the players are God awful and I did under Benitez but they should not be getting relegated and Lampard would have had 18 games - so half a season - to avoid the drop. We still probably only need 3-4 wins but that's like saying 5-6 wins out of 18 is all we asked for and really that should have been minimum.

So if he doesn't get that, then I fail to see a defence of him, no matter what came before, as bad as it was.
Would he be in this situation if he’d taken over in October, definitely not. Like I said in a previous post, the rot had set in and IMO nobody was turning it around. I’ve seen this story to many times, hence why I’ve made my peace with the inevitable

These things cut both ways, though.

If you were a Burnley fan, you'd be looking at it as having gifted Everton two goals with the penalties.

I mean, the first one, if an Everton player did that, I'd be accusing him of match-fixing.

If we can sell the players with a fair money about 150-250M, it will solve most of the financial problem. We can use some of the funds to recruit the players we need like AMF or DM. But after that, do you think we can use the U23 players to return to the prem. league?
Obviously values would drop if we go down,
More so to the higher valued players. Take Allan who is rumoured to be interesting Italian clubs. He’s probably worth 10mil. I don’t think his price would drop to
Much, kean is an obligation so hopefully juve do that deal a year early. The players out of contract as well. I think DCL probably 40mil Richarlison 50 Pickford 20/25. So maybe 200mil and probably 60mil in wages

When villa went about 7 yrs ago they still got 40mil for Benteke.

I think it will be a mixture of experienced free’s
Like Saiss at wolves, using the thelwell link obviously. He’s 32 and a solid CB, we could give him a 2 year deal with a wage bonus for promotion. And we’d probably buy a young CB with high potential. Add to Branthwaite. Then take your pick of 1 from Holgate/Keane/Godfrey

On the wings we could have Gordon and dobbin. Think iwobi would go, maybe gray if we get a good offer. Then maybe Tom Lawrence from Derby on a free. And again a talented youngster for 15mil say from the Dutch/Portuguese league.

Also we will probably use the loan market.

Hopefully we stay up and I could be miles off. Maybe we just sell DCL, Pickford and Richarlison and kean. And just get a few loans and free’s keep a lot of this squad and blood 4/5 under 23’s

All im saying mate is that this myth of Moshiri signing our players is exactly that - a myth.

Bar El Ghazi which was obviously included in the Digne deal the trio Brands/Benitez/Lampard have signed off all of our signings this season, Carlo signed James and Allan last summer and Brands got Doucoure and Godfrey in the door.
That sounds like a scene from Monty Python and The Romans. “ Oh yeah , it’s myth that Moshiri interferes in transfers . Well apart from El Ghazi obviously, when he was helping out his mate. Oh yeah , nearly forgot about Iwobi , just helping out again, then there was….. . But apart from all these , it’s a myth that Moshiri interferes in transfers “. He obviously does. Given he’s the owner putting in the money that’s not unexpected, he’s going to be the one who finally signs off. I just wish he was a bit more competent at doing it .

Not having a go at you mate but sick of seeing this. Can anyone explain to me how this will help Everton compete and who will they be competing with?
No expert, but having a bigger brand new ground in a great location, will surely help us attract better commercials deals and
And maybe a new buyer. With Moshiri even if he woke up and smelt the coffee and started to hire the right people, we’d still be behind a number of clubs financially.

But you can still compete to a higher level that’s been proven. Like Gary Neville said in the Recent overlap Liverpool should be competing for 4th if you take were they’re financially. But a great manager and recruitment Has them challenging.

West Ham, Leicester are punching above their weight.

Newcastle have been a yo yo club going nowhere for years. Now the richest club in the world, rules will mean it will take time, but 10yrs from now i expect them to be in the mix every season. Getting a new ground will surely help us attract new owners and maybe more likely for Moshiri to sell and get his money back.

Will he sell if we stay at goodison?

100% correct , Gordon and Richy missing chances mid week , different sets of players performing well or not ?
Godfrey had a decent game at West Ham then messes up at Burnley ?
Frank must be bewildered whats going on , I feel sorry for him but he is somehow going to have to get this lot to produce results starting against ManU , for his and our sake I hope he does it ?

I would have sacked him after wed debacle but he must go if we lose on Sat, we didn't need a miracle when he joined but we do now. He has shown that he is totally out of his depth, his tactics away from home have been shocking, His lack of changes recently have been baffling especially on wed when we desperately needed fresh legs.
Why on earth would we keep him
Exactly, I don’t mind him but he’s starting to look a Broken man much like Koeman and Silva did in there final weeks here. Lose Saturday I’d get rid, times running out fast.
