Should be. If we lose we can forget any other points this season. If we lose then we need one final roll of the dice. I know they won't have done this, but I'd expect them to have sounded out somebody already who is ready to come in on a heavily bonus driven contract. Preferably somebody from abroad who has never heard of Michael Keane and Jonjoe Kenny and won't be fooled by them.
Keane didn’t play Wednesday

He has to go and not because I don’t think that long term he couldn’t be a reasonable manager for us.

He has to go because the cost of immediate relegation outweighs any longer term development with him.

We have to see if we can scramble to safety and the only obvious thing to help us do that at this point would be to change the manager, as brutal as that sounds.

This is one of the most bonkers arguments out there. Organise a defence with Keane, Holgate, Godfrey and a never-fit Mina is like trying to turn water into wine. It's not possible. They are the weakest, most inept defenders I've ever seen. And Mina simply cannot be relied on.

We have no bus to park. We have a battered mini from the 90s with 250k miles on it. The only way we have an outside chance of survival is if these clowns stop making basic errors that would make you fume at a under 11s game. It's nothing to do with systems. It's about taking responsibility and doing your job properly. Something that seems alien to this lot.
Great post, if we did sack him, it would take the spotlight of the incompetent owner and board who are the main culprits for creating the current mess. Changing managers constantly with the same group of owner and board in situ will only continue the problems.

Unfortunately it is much more difficult for us as fans to influence things at that level.

So what fresh legs you putting on? And hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I guarantee if Dunc was the caretaker manager now and these players were making the same errors. It would all be on the players, Dunc definitely wouldn’t be getting the stick frank Is

Delph and Dele. Holgate was goosed and on a yellow. Was ridiculous to only use 1 sub

Probably because we're on the verge of relegation ultimately.

Benitez still had 20+ games to turn things around - If we lose saturday we could be in the bottom 3 with only 8 games left which includes Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal & Leicester (2) 3 of those being away ties.

We wont stay up if Lampard can't dig out results look at Wigan under Martinez. We've shipped 9 goals in 3 games to Burnley, Crystal Palace and West Ham and cant score from open play.

I don't want to see another manager sacked but I think the board will be accepting relegashun if they don't do one last roll of the dice and hope for a new manager bounce ala Leeds/someone who can tighten us up.

Good points made but you've also got to think about this being Everton and probably taking about four weeks to bring in a new manager. Given their previous record, the board will not have a back up plan lined up.

So a new manager coming in after a sacking then only has to get results against

1st , 3rd , 5th (possibly 4th by then) , 7th , 9th

As well as Brentford and Watford.

If we can't beat a team with 3 wins all season then how do we get results from much better ones? How can a new manager do that?
