You cant think like that in a relegation scrap. You have to hold what you have.

Against WHU that should have been played out to a draw, but we went looking for a quick second; against Burnley the second half should have been all about two banks of four and five protecting what we had.

It's not that hard for Lampard to understand. But I dont think he'll ever do that; and for that reason if we dont win against united I'd have him out by 3PM Saturday afternoon.

Yes, the players are rubbish and to blame. But setting up a lot more cautiously in every game he's had as manager could have yielded us many more points.
Are you suggesting that we get the Count of Monte Bisto back in as the Directors Director of Footballing Matters?

Maximum of about 7/8 points.

And I dont even think the 35 points we'd get in your projection would see us over the line.

Realistically, we need to win 4 of those 5 home games...or 3 of those and hope we beat Watford away.

On last night's evidence Burnley won't get to 35, they're an awful side. They were gifted a win by our mental block away from home after being second best.

3 wins would do it and if anyone down the bottom is capable of that it's Goodison Park with our fans. We'll win at least 2 at home so it might come down to Watford away if we don't win another.

After last night's debacle, I think we'd be deluding ourselves if we thought we could take an away point the rest of the season.

That leaves us with Man U, Leicester, Chelsea, Brentford and Palace at Goodison

10 points from those 5 games keeps us up.

Does anyone think we have a real chance of doing that? I mean, I guess anything is possible. But I think it would take an act of god, personally
I'd be suprised if we got 2 points from those fixtures
Only hope is Leicester are focused on Europe, beached in prem
Chelsea remain in Europe and safe in 3rd so rotate wildly
Brentford are already safe by the time we play them
Palace aren't great away from home but seem to have our number regardless
But if we were to play all these games as things currently stand, 2pts max

I think it is possible. I am clinging to the hope that enough of this shower of a squad will finally realise the position they are in and start making an effort. I think you are about right and 10 points should be enough. That’s just over a point a game so. Going back years many teams down the bottom have a run of form at the end of the season and we are well overdue our good run. Question is are we capable? Time will tell

We'll lose to Man U and Chelsea, that's a certainty. Leicester will make life very difficult. I'd take a point off that now. Brentford, a win and I don't fancy Palace at any time. Away? Can't see anything other than maybe a point at Watford. Think we'll get 6 more points and finish 18th, a couple of points behind Burnley

I admire your optimism mate. I was talking like you prior to the West Ham game.

Losing both the last two games from decent positions has skewered my confidence in this team.

I always considered anything away from home in the run in a bonus, I've said all along it'll be Goodison that gets us out of it. If we hadn't blown it last night Burnley would have been almost seen off so that is very annoying.

Mina and Allan will make a difference as well. We'd have won last night if we had our best team out.

If it comes to it though I think Arteta will go easy on us last day if Arsenal have top 4 sewn up and it looks like it'll go to last game.

They won't, Spurs on a charge
He won't. How can you tell your players go easy on them having instilled a winning mentality?
He doesn't love us as much as you think, he's an Arsenal man

We've won our last few games against his Arsenal side at least. I wouldn't feel confident going there if they're playing for 4th. If they have it sewn up then they won't be as bothered.
